Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Global Services and The Modification & Sustainment Production Engineering USN/USAF Team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineers with the capability to integrate producibility and manufacturing knowledge, information and requirements as a designated interface between program, engineering, operations, and product support. 

This team supports retrofit, modernization, and sustainment activities across the BGS defense portfolio, including the F/A-18, F-15, A-10, and F-22 platforms in Hazelwood, Missouri.

As part of our team, you will be focused on activities include maintenance of the drawing release schedule, drawing review for manufacturing approach/capability of modification/retrofit/repair, development and updates of kit bill of material, development and updates to manufacturing instructions for outside suppliers or in-house work instructions of Boeing designed components, development of tooling concepts and issuing tool orders, liaison activities and shop support.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualizes, designs and manages the program architecture for build and installation in support of field aircraft.
  • Defines, develops and implements the manufacturing plan and represents the program as a manufacturing integrator through all phases of the product life cycle.
  • Develops advanced manufacturing, tooling and engineering technologies.
  • Advocates and works to company Lean Enterprise analysis methods and application of lean processes and tools.
  • Maintain the drawing release schedule.
  • Develop and update the kit bill of material
  • Develop and update Special Manufacturing Instructions (SMI) for outside suppliers or in-house work instructions of Boeing designed components.
  • Develop tooling concepts and issue tool orders.
  • Position will require some domestic travel (approximately 10%).Occasional Travel required: 25%.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US CitizenshipAn interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Hazelwood, MO.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in Engineering.
  • 1+ years’ experience in manufacturing support.
  • 1+ years’ experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
  • 1+ years’ experience applying professional/technical writing skills, teaming successfully to solve technical issues.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing support.
  • Experience working with product definition and manufacturing environments based in CATIA and NX, Enovia, CMPro, and TeamCenter.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills.

Typical Education & Experience:

Associate-Level:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Associate Level Summary pay range: $75,650 - $102,350

Mid-Level Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900
