Job Description:

PLC Programmer (Claxton Plant)

Carthage, Missouri Plant on Claxton Ave

Earn up to $40.83 per hour in 24 months

Night Shift: Every Saturday, Sunday, & Monday, 6pm-6am

Pay Scale:

  • Starting wage: $36.32
  • 24 month top out wage: $39.83
  • Night differential: additional $1.00

TESTING REQUIRED: Candidate must successfully pass the WPTR, PLC Testing and Ramsay Electronics Level 3 Test

EXPERIENCE: Hands on experience in installation and electronic troubleshooting of process controls and PLC programming (Minimum 1 year experience)

Have advanced PLC programming skills – with emphasis in the following:

Allen Bradley – PanelView, Ethernet, Control Logix and Compact Logix Knowledge of PLC control/program design with focus on programming and integration skills. Process control loop design. Utilize structured programming approach. Knowledge of interfaces to graphic display systems or Databases and Ethernet, would be helpful. Completion of Studio 5000 Logix course preferred.

Position Purpose:  Plant control system PLC and HMI device development, installation, programming and ongoing maintenance support.  This includes all related periphery devices such as network communications and field IO modules and VFD’s, as well as field device and control panel interfacing to plant and company standards.  Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, and NFPA electrical standards and Code is a preferred. Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience and the ability to understand, troubleshoot and maintain control systems, related drawings and schematics is required.  The ability to think logically with attention to fine detail is required.

Maintains, repairs, designs and calibrates electronic devices. Rebuilds, installs and test electrical/electronic equipment. Ability to perform retro fits with existing equipment upgrades.

Work with Leaders and fellow partners to ensure Food Safety and Partner Safety. Understand and execute standard operating procedures relative to position. Perform all PCP and CCP checks required for position. Follow reaction plan for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement outages and by contacting TA/TL.  Be able to identify and understand customer requirements and assist in assuring proper operation and product.  Record accurate data on production reports.

Essential Functions:

Ensures equipment is safe to operate, which includes proper safety considerations have been addressed when developing equipment control systems.

Designs, specifies, documents, installs, maintains and repairs electrical/electronic devices and electrical/electronic equipment used to control processes and manufacturing equipment.

Resolves reliability issues, developing equipment improvements/upgrades.

Other duties as assigned by TA/TL.

SKILLS:

Read, comprehend and follow complex trouble-shooting instructions/prints/ladder logic.

Proficiency in reading and comprehension of the English language is required.

Identify parts from equipment operational/maintenance manuals.

Knowledge/experience in operating and maintaining miscellaneous test/calibration equipment/meters and shop equipment.

Ability to develop an excellent working relationship with fellow partners and with other plant departments.

Ability to test run equipment in all production and production support departments.

Must walk or stand 75% of time to include working off a ladder or lying on floor to access equipment components.

Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

Ability to use computer software as required to maintain and document PLC and HMI equipment installations.

Ability to perform troubleshooting, installations and upgrades on related manufacturing equipment.

Satisfactory attendance record. Must be on-time to work.

Excellent communication and people skills.

Gather and define requirements from internal and external customers for system designs. Interface with converting, information systems, engineering and vendors. PLC programming skills and teaching/training skills.

This position requires passing a post-offer background check, physical and drug screen.
