Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)Reporting to the Marketing & Communication Manager, the Communication Specialist works directly with members of the leadership team of the Urban Rail Signaling (URS) Business Line (BL) and within the communications team, to coordinate the internal Communications activities, to deploy the company strategy and deliver the global business objectives.
Please note that this is a 12 months contract employment.
Key Accountabilities:
Amplifying key messages and business strategy, to local and global audiences across the organization;
In coordination with executives across HR, Strategy and Marketing, implementing the communications strategy aligned with the organizations objectives to address business challenges.
Brand ambassador to ensure consistent brand representation across all platforms, by abiding by corporate brand guidelines
Writing content such as articles, executive messages, announcements, newsletters, scripts, and social media materials to share updates and achievements for global projects and accomplishments
Manage and update internal communications channels (intranet, email, podcast, video, in-person events, virtual events, etc) and regularly evaluate the efficiency of the channels used
Drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion messaging (e.g., awareness campaigns, events) with timely and impactful communications and employee engagement initiatives
Identify and curate creative storytelling opportunities with stakeholders across the organization to advance understanding of departments, their achievements and the value they deliver to our organization
Work collaboratively to execute internal events, showcasing project management and organization skills (All Staff Events, Leaders Forums International Women’s Day etc)
Identify, track, and measure communication metrics to evaluate the success of campaigns, channels, and content to meet desired KPI’s
Key Requirements:
3 to 5+ years of experience in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Related Field
Strong written and verbal communications skills – due to the international nature of the business, must be proficient in English and comfortable working and operating in a matrixed international business setting
Ability to comprehend technology and technical principles to simplify complex concepts to effectively communicate them to a diverse audience with varying levels of familiarity about the subject matter
Skilled in using digital communication tools and formats, including video, podcasts, social media, Microsoft Suite, and Adobe Suite. Strong digital literacy required.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Experience organizing and supporting large scale events
Strong storytelling abilities with an eye for graphic design to create impactful communication campaigns
Strategic and creative thinker with excellent attention to detail, prioritization skills, ability to manage multiple projects and the ability to meet deadlines
