Job Description:

Business Change Manager, Sr.

Location: Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy, providing various levels of flexibility while also ensuring that associates have opportunities to connect in-person. Unless in a designated virtual-eligible role and specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, associates are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. The Business Change Manager, Sr. will play a critical role in optimizing the legal department’s operations, implementing technology solutions, managing projects, and improving overall efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership and project management skills, capable of fostering cross-functional collaboration. This position reports to the Chief of Staff, Office of the CLO

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Operational Efficiency:

  • Develop and implement processes to enhance the efficiency and productivity of the legal department.
  • Identify and implement best practices and standard operating procedures.

Technology and Tools:

  • Evaluate, implement, and manage legal technology solutions (e.g., matter management, contract management, document management systems).
  • Provide training and support to team members on technology tools.

Project Management:

  • Manage department projects and initiatives
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets; track progress and report on key milestones.

Financial Management:

  • Assist in the development and management of the department’s budget.
  • Monitor spend and analyze cost data to find opportunities for savings.

Vendor Management:

  • Oversee relationships with outside counsel and other legal service providers.
  • Negotiate terms and rates with vendors, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

Data and Reporting:

  • Collect, analyze, and report on key metrics to support decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and other reporting tools.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Finance, IT, and HR, to ensure cohesive support for legal operations.
  • Provide support and guidance to legal team members on operational issues.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires a BA/BS in a related field and minimum of 8 years process improvement, business change or project related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Experience in successfully developing and managing projects with significant operating budget and knowledge of process redesign strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal operations, project management, or a related role within a corporate legal department.
  • Strong understanding of legal department operations, including contract management, e-billing, and legal spend management.
  • Proficiency with legal technology tools and software.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and improve processes.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $80,352.00 to $160,704.00
