The opportunity
The Internal Business Associate will assist members of the Internal Sales Management Team and the group of Internal Business Consultants (IBC) with their day-to-day activities, as well as ongoing projects. Some of these activities include: running reports, conducting research on clients, and attending all team meetings and trainings. This role will allow you an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of our business and will build a strong foundation for your career!
Successful candidates are required to acquire the Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses within 120 days of hire so that you can then begin your career as a licensed financial professional. We will cover all costs of these licenses and will provide you with requisite training, and time to study during regular business hours in addition to other responsibilities listed above, so that you are fully prepared for these exams. Preferably before your start date, you will also need to obtain your Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam. We will also provide reimbursement for exam materials if needed.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with Internal Sales Management and IBC's
  • Uncover opportunities that could improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Internal Sales Desk
  • Provide outstanding support by providing reports, conducting research, and collaborating on ongoing projects
  • Participate in roundtable discussions and feedback sessions around effective sales strategies
  • Maintain competitive intelligence by attending meetings, engaging other internal departments to understand John Hancock's internal strategies.
  • Serve as priority point of contact for all inbound sales inquiries and potential client relationship development opportunities
  • Support the chat functionality on www.jhinvestments.com with financial advisors
  • Help coordinate advisor events and attendance partnering with colleagues in your division
  • Assist in Continuing Education (CE) reporting process for large events
  • Help drive attendance to local events hosted by externals

What we are looking for
  • Interest in Capital Markets
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Desire to obtain sales experience within the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills, including the ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a changing fast paced environment, with passion and a positive attitude.
  • This position is subject to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Pay-to-Play Rule 206(4)-5 regarding political contributions by investment advisors and their covered associates.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
