Summary:  

The R&D Satellite Office in Canton MS is looking for an E4 Mechanical, Electrical or Automotive Engineer, who is hands on to work hand-in-hand with the other key stakeholders to improve the quality of the vehicles built in Canton, MS.  This individual will work on both current model vehicles and also support new model launches.  The individual needs to be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
 

This engineer will perform the following, additional responsibilities may be assigned:

  • Design and quality investigations to improve quality of vehicles and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaboration and good working relationship between Plant, Field Quality, Customer Satisfaction and R&D to foster quick problem solving.
  • Quick and continuous improvement required for Warranty, internal and external quality metrics – identifying root cause and short and long countermeasures.
  • Work to improve quality speed to resolve engineering and design issues.
  • Collaborate on field quality issues to quickly identify root cause & countermeasure, both short & long term.
  • Support production trial and launch event activities including supplier preparation complementing Design Engineers from Farmington Hills, MI, Mexico and Japan.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience (Automotive OEM or Automotive Supplier experience is preferred).
  • Candidates to have experience in one or more areas of Quality Engineering, Warranty analysis, Field Quality, Design & Release.
  • Other relevant areas of experience would also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design experience in one or more of the areas of electrical, body, exterior trim, interior trim, or Chassis.
  • Understanding of vehicle communication networks (Example, CAN, LIN, etc.) and the use of CAN Tools.
  • Experience in Quality Engineering or Product Quality a plus.
