Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore

Business & Team:

Enterprise Services (ES) is responsible for the world leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of CommBank, from innovative product platforms for our customers to essential tools within our business. We also use technology to drive efficient and timely processing, an essential component of great customer service.
You will be working as a part of Wealth & Private to achieve their strategic objectives through planning, prioritising, delivering and supporting projects and initiatives. Your team’s success will be realised through partnering with business and IT teams across business domain and Technology to deliver beautiful experiences and exceptional capabilities to our branch applications.

You will contribute to the financial well-being of our customers by ensuring that our team builds the best solutions possible using modern development practices that ensure both functional and non-functional needs are met.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of strategic programs of work.

  • Utilises strong understanding of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes.

  • Provide consultancy across projects and delivery teams.

  • Leader and champion of strategic practice development within team or platform.

  • Contributes to delivery planning with expert advice, often T-shaping when required.

  • Evangelist for best practices and industry standards including test automation.

  • Identifies, gains support for, and ensures execution of strategic direction in areas of expertise.

  • Responsible for nominated technical assets related to areas of expertise including roadmaps and technical direction.

  • Take ownership of initiatives and assets and follow up to provide highest quality of customer service.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience: 3+ years of industry experience as a Native Android mobile application developer

  • Development Methodologies: iOS framework, MVVM, Rest API, DI MVP, streaming platforms like Kafka.

  • Frontend Technologies: Swift UI, Reactive framework HTML5, CSS and Javascript.

  • Programming Languages: Xcode, Swift, Objective C with good knowledge of OOPS concepts and design patterns. 

  • CI/CD: Any Git tool for source control. Build tools like TeamCity or Jenkins and experience with deployment tooling like Octopus or similar. Proficient knowledge of Dockers and Kubernetes.

  • Databases: Either of the relational databases like MSSQL / Oracle. Also any No-SQL database like MongoDB etc. 

  • Monitoring: Familiarization with Splunk or a similar monitoring tool and performance tooling like AppDynamics.

  • Cloud: A fairly good knowledge of either of Cloud providers, preferably AWS or Azure.

  • Soft skills: Excellent communication skills. Working experience with Agile methodologies.

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
