Role Description

The Group Head of FP&A will lead the global FP&A function for FNZ, overseeing all aspects of financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for the Group. The role is essential to supporting FNZ's continued growth, financial performance, and operational efficiency. With contracted assets under administration (AUA) of approximately $2 trillion and annual revenue exceeding $1 billion, FNZ requires a seasoned professional to provide strategic insight, drive transformation, and implement best-in-class FP&A processes and systems.

The ideal candidate will have 10-20 years of experience in financial leadership, with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams, and driving financial systems transformations. A key focus of this role will be to move FNZ towards modern, integrated financial systems, enabling more accurate and efficient forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. This individual will work closely with senior leadership, regional finance teams, and other stakeholders across the business.

This is a high-impact, strategic role that will require excellent leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to deliver clear, actionable insights to support decision-making at the executive level.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and manage the global FP&A function, providing vision and direction to regional FP&A teams, ensuring alignment with FNZ’s overall business strategy

  • Work closely with leadership to guide the financial planning process, aligning financial performance with the Group’s long-term objectives

  • Play a pivotal role in transforming FNZ’s financial planning systems, moving the business away from spreadsheet-based processes and implementing best-in-class FP&A systems and tools to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making and financial planning

Financial Forecasting & Budgeting

  • Lead the development, consolidation, and analysis of the Group’s annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial plans, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business goals

  • Drive the adoption and integration of a comprehensive FP&A platform that facilitates real-time reporting, data integrity, and scenario modelling, reducing manual input and error-prone processes

  • Regularly present financial forecasts, trends, and analyses to the Head of Corporate Development & FP&A, Group CFO, executive team, and board of directors, with clear recommendations for action

  • Develop multi-year financial models to support the Group’s strategic initiatives, including expansion opportunities, M&A, and capital allocation decisions

Performance Reporting & Analytics

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and key stakeholders, including C-suite executives and the board

  • Drive the use of data analytics tools and dashboards to provide deeper insights into key financial metrics and performance drivers, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement

  • Ensure the FP&A function supports FNZ’s overall performance management framework, providing detailed variance analysis, benchmarking, and financial performance assessments

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the business, ensuring the FP&A team delivers actionable insights and recommendations to improve financial performance

Systems Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Lead the selection, design, and implementation of a robust, scalable FP&A system that integrates with FNZ’s existing financial infrastructure and supports real-time data analysis and reporting

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the FP&A team, streamlining processes, automating workflows, and adopting new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Work closely with IT, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth implementation of new systems and processes, with minimal disruption to ongoing business activities

  • Establish clear protocols and governance for data management, ensuring that all financial data is accurate, timely, and accessible to decision-makers across the Group

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership and regional business unit leaders, providing financial guidance and insights that drive business performance

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business, ensuring that the FP&A function is seen as a trusted partner in achieving FNZ’s strategic objectives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the financial evaluation of new initiatives, business cases, and strategic projects

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing FP&A team, developing talent and creating a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement

Risk Management & Scenario Analysis

  • Lead scenario planning and stress testing to assess potential risks and opportunities to FNZ’s financial position, including market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives

  • Provide strategic insights into risk management, working closely with the leadership team to mitigate potential risks and position the business for sustainable growth

Ad Hoc Strategic Initiatives

  • Lead and support ad-hoc financial initiatives, including capital raising, financial restructuring, M&A integration, and other strategic projects as required

  • Participate in external stakeholder engagements (as and when needed), including investor relations, regulatory discussions, and strategic presentations

Experience required

Qualifications & Professional Expertise

  • Proven experience (10-20 years) in FP&A leadership roles within large, complex, multi-national organizations, ideally with experience in financial services or FinTech

  • Strong background in financial systems transformation, with experience in leading the implementation of advanced FP&A tools (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights) to replace manual, spreadsheet-driven processes

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge

  • Experience in leading global or regional FP&A teams and driving performance across multiple geographies

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Exceptional financial modelling, forecasting, and data analysis skills, with a proven ability to provide actionable insights from complex financial data

  • Experience implementing and using advanced FP&A platforms and business intelligence tools to streamline reporting and decision-making processes

  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to think strategically and provide insight into the financial implications of business decisions

  • Ability to manage large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and planning processes

Leadership & Communication

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing, geographically distributed FP&A teams

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of clearly articulating complex financial information to senior stakeholders, including the executive team and board

  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business
