Your New Role

Reporting to the Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, the EVP, Corporate Communications will manage the communications and media relations strategy on a global scale. This key role will directly support the CCO’s vision for the group, helping to shape the overall WBD narrative for the company and its diverse global business segments, encompassing Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Television Group, U.S. Networks, HBO, Max, discovery+, CNN, and Eurosport.

This leader will serve as a key communications strategist, coordinating across a number of WBD’s global internal communications teams and acting as one of the main spokespersons for Warner Bros. Discovery. The EVP will work closely with senior leadership, including the CCO, CEO and business heads, to craft and manage the company's narrative both internally and externally. They will focus on building and enhancing brand value, awareness, and engagement, ensuring that Warner Bros. Discovery's communications resonate with key stakeholders, including industry partners and shareholders, while supporting our business and programming goals.

       

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Shaping and successfully deploying a comprehensive strategic communication plan that reinforces WBD’s position as an industry leader and advances the company’s strategic business goals with a variety of internal and external audiences, including business, general and trade media
  • Providing strategic communications counsel, strategy and support to the CCO, CEO and C-Suite as a trusted advisor, including identifying and securing appropriate speaking engagements and opportunities for presentations, op-ed, and other forums that position the company’s senior executives as leaders in the industry
  • Developing and assuring the consistent dissemination of the company’s key corporate messages
  • Bridging creativity and strategy to deliver one cohesive narrative, both internally as well as externally
  • Aligning operational workflows, systems and processes cross-functionally to deliver best-in-class communications practices in service of the entire group
  • Serving as one of WBD’s primary spokespeople
  • Designing and executing effective CEO and Executive Communications strategies which align with the overall corporate narrative
  • Proactively implementing effective crisis communications strategies to mitigate issues that could represent reputational challenges
  • Building and enhancing WBD’s brand and advancing its reputation and corporate values inside and outside the industry

Qualifications & Experience

  • The successful candidate has at least 15 years of communications/public relations experience working at a senior level in a major corporation, talent agency or a public relations firm with experience managing the development and implementation of integrated strategic communications plans for large, complex, and global organizations.  Preference for candidates with track records in either news, media, entertainment or politics.
  • This executive is a proven strategist and tactician who has seen first-hand what it takes to develop and successfully manage a best-in-class communications team and strategy. The successful candidate has comprehensive experience as one of the primary spokespersons for a major corporation and exudes confidence and poise amongst an array of internal/ external pressures. The ideal candidate is eager to leverage their extensive experience and network to build a world-class communications team.
  • Smart, outgoing, personable, and collegial, this person values networking and appreciates the importance of listening and building relationships. This executive is a proven leader, coach and advisor with a track record of garnering respect and trust at all levels. The ideal candidate is an exceptional collaborator who inspires confidence and trust in all stakeholders to drive results.
  • This executive is a skilled collaborator, who finds challenges energizing and is excited by the opportunity to build new and creative communications ideas that support the dissemination and understanding of the company, its unique position in the market and the strength of its performance and its brands. They are exceptionally adaptable and excel at handling multiple complex challenges at an exceptional pace.
  • The successful candidate has significant experience working successfully with global media and has an extensive network of contacts in the entertainment industry, as well as general media.
  • This executive has extensive experience counseling senior executives at the highest level and has proven ability to become a trusted advisor to them regarding both internal and external communications issues.
  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in marketing or communications, is required; MBA or other graduate degree is a plus.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $385,000.00 - $715,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
