Who are we looking for

We are looking for a Retail Director to lead our stores teams, deliver the vision and strategy for our retail stores across Italy; developing digitally enabled stores in the path of the consumer, growing member engagement and purchase frequency to drive growth in physical and digital retail!

What you will work on

  • Store Athletes create the emotional connection to Nike and are our most diverse team. Build, lead, encourage and develop diverse store teams through inclusion, empowerment and a culture of belonging.

  • Drive productivity & profitability aligned with our strategic goals leading through retail- and functional excellence whilst delivering a premium consumer experience.

  • Coordinate resources to drive customer satisfaction, productivity, profitability and sustainable growth.

  • Oversee the direction of coordinated merchandising and sales efforts across your region, whilst managing financial budgets eg: labour costs and expenses

  • Ensure a consistently high level of operational standards and performance across all stores.

  • Partner with the EMEA Real-Estate and Store Development teams to drive implementation of the fleet transformation strategy to land our Nike Direct store concepts.

  • Ally with the Consumer Direct Marketing teams to bring the key city 365 membership offense to life in our stores and through our store athletes.

  • Provide local leadership to implement technological improvements required to integrate digital and physical retail and elevate our service levels for our cross channel consumers.

  • Provide regional insights on retail performance, relevant market information and opportunities & challenges in order to drive business results.

Who you work with

Reporting into the Senior Retail Director, Nike Stores, you work with a diverse group of internal & external partners in your role including Head Coaches (store managers) & Athletes (store staff), EMEA teams including Real Estate, Store Construction/Development, Loss Prevention, Consumer Direct Marketing teams, Local Agencies, Nike Direct Digital team, Insights & Analytics Team, Nike Athlete experience team, Logistics, Visual Merchandising and HR.

What you bring to nike

  • RETAIL - Deep understanding & experience of retail business levers – operations, omni-channel services, visual merchandising and managing physical retail stores and assets.

  • LEADERSHIP - Strong people leadership experience – leading, inspiring and directing large, remote and sophisticated teams, and leading through others to deliver business results

  • MARKETPLACE DEVELOPMENT - Agile problem solver who can use deeper consumer insights from enhanced data & analytics, drive new concepts across the fleet with core partners and through regional teams

  • DIGITAL Strong digital native which experience of driving digital transformation through platforms, social media and blended channels to drive and inspire consumers

  • MANAGEMENT - Multi site retail leadership, including managing a broad portfolio of retail & digital stores, and running fleet of stores

REQUIREMENTS

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must. Fluency in spoken Italian is preferred.

  • Retail experience is needed specially anything related to the day to day operations of a store, including senior management experience of high turnover, large store/region

  • Proven track record of delivery of results including all retail KPIs

  • Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to build, lead and manage high-performing teams and develop talent, succession planning

  • Retail operational excellence, budgeting, and planning experience

  • Proven record of driving teams on service delivery

  • Stellar track record on delivering productivity KPIs
