Role Definition:
This Cybersecurity Engineering Manager is responsible to lead a team of senior cybersecurity experts in the delivery of cybersecurity engineering service offerings, including risk assessments of complex solutions/systems, architecture and solution design consulting, security policy development, threat modeling, remediation consulting, and risk identification. This leader is also responsible for the integration of security into business solutions and lifecycle processes and will be a driving force that delivers constant improvement to the cybersecurity posture of Caterpillar infrastructure, applications, and connected products that protects our competitive advantage and ensures customer confidence in the Caterpillar brand.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical teams to assess risk and recommend innovative and effective security solutions to proactively mitigate threats and ensure a secure environment.
  • Provide leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with persuasive and influencing abilities and a capacity to lead and motivate others and meet client expectations.
  • Collaborate and build partnerships with technology and business leaders. Garner support for cybersecurity and risk management initiatives. Communicate complex solutions to business partners with varying levels of technical skills.
  • Create sophisticated solutions and lead technical teams to develop practical, actionable plans.
  • Help develop and maintain risk management programs that evaluate, prioritize, remediate, and prevent logic and/or security risks. Promote the use of security practices and methods early in the development cycle.
  • Participate in development of strategic direction for security engineering and risk management initiatives.
  • Oversee various information security functions as assigned by senior leadership such as risk management, security controls development, security architecture, incident response, security monitoring, travel security, insider threat, investigative processes, and project management.
  • Explore and evaluate new methods in the security industry that can help integrate with corporate systems and strategies.
  • Develop business case to secure approval for implementation of new systems and technologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate audit actions for the analytic and technical aspects of security.
  • Keep up to date with global threats to the company and its staff by conducting rational risk assessment and security threat analysis.
  • Manage the capital and expense budget for the security risk assessment operations and enterprise security programs. Monitors and maintains vendor agreements and ensure delivery of requested capabilities.
  • Lead technical teams in complex technology planning, critical review, and initiative-taking problem solving.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to deadlines.
     

Degree Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

What You Have:

  • Holds active, nationally recognized cybersecurity industry certification(s), such as CISSP, CISM, GSLC or similar.
  • Experience in leading/managing large-scale, high profile security programs.
  • Strong hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering in multiple security domains.
  • Practical application in multiple information technology disciplines such as system administration, application development, or platform support.
  • Background with security solution engineering and architecting security solutions based on industry standard frameworks such as ISO27001, IEC 62443, NIST CSF, etc.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working within Caterpillar business segment desired but not required.
  • General understanding of business operations including the technical infrastructure, general business processes, parts warehousing, distribution, dealer processes, manufacturing, and engineering functional applications.
     

Additional Info:

  • The primary location for this position is Nashville, TN, Irving, TX or Peoria, IL. You must be willing to work ONSITE 3 DAYS A WEEK.

  • Relocation is available to those who qualify.
  • Travel less than 20%.
