Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)We are looking for a Project Systems Specialist to join our team in Toronto.
The successful candidate will perform system design, signaling design, analysis, modelling and simulation to specify communication-based train control systems; develop and define system design features to meet Customer requirements; analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with system technical requirements; develop and define System, Subsystems requirements; develop block design, interlocking control tables, and application database for Software subsystems; and analyze and evaluate system performance and prepare associated technical contract deliverable.
The incumbent is accountable for performing the design work correctly, within cost and schedule limits, as defined in approved work packages. The work is typically defined by the Work Package Manager, then reviewed and approved by the Systems Architect and/or Manager. The System Engineer typically works with a team of engineers to define what will be designed, how it will perform and how it will be determined that it is working correctly. As Project System Design Specialist you may also be assigned to lead a group of system engineers on a project or product. This would include reviewing correcting and mentoring other system engineers.

Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's of Science in related one of the disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Physics, System Design Engineering or other
Senior level expertise in URS Systems or minimum 8 years with similar system complexity
Referent/coach on specialized engineering skills of the CBTC domain
Communications based train control
Railway Signaling
Requirements Engineering
Systems Design
System Modelling
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Strong application (automated train control systems) domain knowledge & Knowledge of systems engineering principles and practices
Knowledge of modern software engineering practices, methods and tools
Knowledge of systems development life cycle
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Good presentation skills
Ability to sell/defend products to customers with differing levels of knowledge about automated systems
Strong planning and organizational skills
Experience in using DOORS, Polarion, etc.
Rail Signaling knowledge
