The Role: Senior Analyst, Digital Product Management, BI Specialist

The Team: You will become a BI specialist in the Digital Product Management team that is an integral part of S&P Global Commodity Insights’ Tech & Data organization. The BI4CI (Business Intelligence for Commodity Insights) team is the Centre of Excellence for client facing data visualization and business intelligence (BI) within S&P Global Commodity Insights and looking after all BI related projects and provides guidance from concept to customer experience on our platforms.

The Impact: You will be part of a team that helps to deliver and manage actionable, visual, informative BI content in a fast-growing and relevant space of business. The candidate would play a critical role in visualization projects which will add value and propel the analysis and research of our products/services. The candidate would also take part in digital product management activities, managing inventory and publishing.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate would be working on Power BI projects, guiding developers and validating reports, advising and providing guidance on best practices regarding BI development (data engineering, DAX, visuals, layout, interactions, etc.).
  • Additional duties would involve providing support in troubleshooting, and in admin tasks such as help to manage inventory and helping with publishing client facing content.
  • Attention to detail is a must-have skill, as the candidate would also support editing and UX/UI design work.

What We’re Looking For: We are looking for a BI specialist who will work on Power BI projects, has a keen eye for detail, has proven experience working towards strict deadlines, and can work collaboratively with colleagues and ad-hoc teams. This role would be ideal for a colleague who is eager to contribute to delivering high quality BI content to our clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study
  • 3+ years of proven advanced experience in Microsoft Power BI Desktop, data transformation and data modeling
  • Excellent working knowledge of DAX and Power Query
  • Strong track record and demonstrable interest in visualizing data and organizational skills
  • Analytical understanding of data and storytelling with BI
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiarity with Power BI workspaces
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Familiarity with other Microsoft software and applications – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Knowledge of Tableau, QuickSight, and Python is a bonus
