The Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) team at Motorola Solutions is seeking a Product Manager with a strong data science and data modeling background who can own the strategy and vision for our intelligent data platform and grow its storage and search capabilities to support the high volumes and performance required by a variety of critical public safety and video analysis applications. The position is responsible for defining and delivering the product roadmap for the entire data platform and requires strong collaboration with executive level stakeholders, internal engineering teams, and external partners and vendors to navigate the ideal path forward. The role is highly visible and highly technical - with the ideal candidate having a background in the technology aspects of large data platforms along with an acute business and customer focus.
The candidate responsibilities will include:
Develop and execute the product strategy for our intelligent data platform - a large data platform with advanced search capabilities that powers critical public safety applications
Lead the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, and ongoing product enhancements, including defining product roadmap, feature prioritization, and release planning.
Conduct market research and gather customer insights to identify market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, product managers from partner teams, engineering, design, marketing, and sales to define product requirements, prioritize features, and ensure successful product launches.
Define clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria to guide the development team.
Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, user feedback, and market trends to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous product improvement.
Act as a product evangelist, effectively communicating the value proposition and benefits of the data platform to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
Develop and demonstrate a high level of subject matter expertise in all relevant functional areas to help maintain a system-level view during the solution construction process.
Track and regularly report on the progress towards important milestones and deliverables
Ensure backlog and goals for the data platform are maintained and current.
Be the face of the team with executives around the company to showcase the value prop and progress against goals.
Requirements:
At least 3 years experience in product management and 8 years Industry experience in an engineering or product management related discipline.
At least 3 years experience delivering solutions involving large data storage, data models, semantic search and AI enabled search
Experience and knowledge of core technical concepts required for this product - Data Modelling, Data Science, Data Governance/Quality, and understanding of Data Integration
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
Demonstrated success in delivering complex software products from concept to launch, preferably in an Agile development environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Polished presentation skills for internal and external audiences

Strong organization and planning skills
Proactive, enthusiastic attitude toward challenging problems
Strong decision making and prioritization skills
Experience shipping SaaS applications on Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus
Eligible for relevant security clearances where required by customer interaction
Note: Candidate must reside in the Chicagoland Area, Salt Lake City Area or Greater Dallas Area.
