The CoverMyMeds Marketing team is seeking a dynamic Senior Director to lead our Brand function. This pivotal role reports to the VP Head of Marketing and leads our Brand, Design, and External Communication teams. You will drive growth by owning our brand identity, brand reputation & public relations, brand management, value stories, messaging, content marketing, thought leadership, and design & copy capabilities.

It is highly visible, with active engagement and presentations at all levels of the organization. Your team will collaborate with our Product Marketing, Research, Demand Gen, and Marketing Operations teams to deliver work up and down the funnel.

The CoverMyMeds marketing organization has a primary role of Commercial Marketing. We are rooted in McKesson’s values, have a caring culture, and work as one-team. This role is part of the Marketing Leadership team and will make decisions that accelerate our function, improve our impact, and develop our people. CoverMyMeds Brand Leadership

  • Own, define, and evolve the CoverMyMeds Commercial brand.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Brand, Head of Marketing, Commercial leaders, and executives to define, push, elevate, and extend brand strategies, perceptions, and deliverables.
  • Lead the team to execute standout brand campaigns that improve awareness and consideration.
  • Own our visual identity and lead team to develop brand assets in partnership with McKesson Corporate branding.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand brand reach and effectiveness.

Impactful Marketing

  • Foster a collaborative environment to maximize impact of our marketing plan operating model.
  • Lead team to deliver the brand, design, and communication components in our marketing plans.
  • Establish modern capabilities, frameworks, and methodologies for written and visual storytelling across all marketing channels and at all stages in the funnel.
  • Create clarity, partnerships, and processes to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.
  • Ensure accurate resourcing and budgeting models.

Own Capabilities to Drive Results

  • Social Media Marketing: Lead team to grow our social media marketing ​capabilities, and drive results through social selling with our Sales teams.
  • Expand blog reach and impact to drive audience engagement by aligning narrative to both Customer interests and CoverMyMeds priorities.
  • Reputation management: Lead team to grow the thought leadership and public relations capabilities for CoverMyMeds, including process and risk tolerance through partnerships.

Performance and ROI Management

  • Own brand health, equity and awareness measures.
  • Own performance of the blog, social selling, external communications.
  • Own team engagement and performance management.
  • Achievement of the Marketing Scorecard in partnership with the Marketing Leadership Team
  • Manage resources and budget allocation to drive ROI.
  • Create systems to analyze and report on marketing, communications, and brand performance.
  • Deliver on KPIs by assessing brand perceptions and campaign metrics.
  • Use data and insights to guide decision-making and improve team deliverables.

  • Develop team expertise in messaging, content, brand strategy, social media, and PR.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Business Experience –
    • 7+ years people management
    • 12+ years in marketing, brand, or communications
    • Proven track record in leading brand strategies for complex organizations.
    • Experience developing and optimizing marketing operating models.
    • Healthcare or Life Sciences/Biopharma experience hghly preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge/Skills –
    • Demonstrated expertise in brand identity, positioning and value propositions.
    • Demonstrated excellence in setting strategy and driving performance of a team.
    • Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing budgets to achieve KPIs.
    • Expertise in digital, paid, and social media campaigns.
    • Expertise in managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
    • Experience in managing a brand for large-scale, complex businesses.
    • Experience deploying work against full-time staff, contractors, and agencies.
    • Outstanding leadership, storytelling, and communication skills.
    • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong ability to autonomously lead and operate a team.
    • Strong proficiency in audience/market research and analysis.

Working Conditions:

  • Columbus, McKesson Hub, or remote office setting
  • Travel ~25%

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$145,500 - $242,500
