Join the Compliance Systems Management Division as a Data Analyst, here you will leverage a variety of analytic techniques to support the Compliance Program of Northwestern Mutual. As a Data Analyst you will present leaders with insights supporting key metrics, operational trends, and identify areas of potential risk within the Compliance Program. You will also build insights to measure system performance, effectiveness and accuracy to proactively identify opportunities of improvement within various technologies that serve Compliance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends in order to drive business decisions and address business questions.
  • Summarizes analysis into user-friendly deliverables by translating detailed data into business-appropriate communication and recommendations.
  • Produce actionable reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems.
  • Ability and desire to learn the business domain supported. Begins to apply knowledge towards analysis and deliverables.
  • Learning business process and user tasks.
  • Learning best practices, methodologies, standards, and processes.
  • Takes direction to design and develop deliverables based on findings and business client needs.
  • Collaborates with team for speed, agility and innovation in work.
  • Occasionally contributes to the growth and development of immediate team through active sharing of results and insights.
  • Embraces continuous learning, curiosity, and ambiguity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or related field
  • Coursework in programming and analytical methods or visualization and storytelling
  • Access, gather, and analyze data from internal and external sources to drive insights into business problems, decisions, and performance
  • Creates and produces forecasts, reports, dashboards, etc. to tell a story through data
  • Data visualization best practices
  • Creates forecasts and recommendations based on business data and market knowledge
  • Utilizes analytics and metrics to recommend improvements to processes and provide data-driven forecasts
  • Experience in one or more development or analytical tools such as SAS, SQL, MS Excel, SPSS, R or other tool
  • Visualization tooling like PowerBI or Tableau.

Pay Range - Start:

$47,600.00

Pay Range - End:

$88,400.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
