Saxo Bank's credit-related clients are represented in many different countries, making the challenges unique compared to other Danish banks. These financial counterparties are typically banks and brokers, but also in some cases business enterprises.

The Group Credit Department consists of six employees (including two students) and its overall purpose is to monitor and manage Saxo Bank's credit risk at group level. This includes credit risk in connection with individual clients' activities in Saxo Bank as well as credit risk in connection with Saxo Bank's own investments.

Group Credit manages all credit exposures within the Saxo Group by. Furthermore, Group Credit plays a key role in ensuring that credit risk is managed within issued appetite levels and specific limits. In addition, the department is responsible for finance-related task such as calculating credit losses etc.

The credit function is in a very positive development phase of importance for the bank. Our two current students have been a part of this journey for more than two years but they will finalize their master’s theses this winters and we are therefore hiring their replacements.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously maintain and develop Power BI dashboards and SQL queries

  • Handle calculations of impairments and expected credit loss

  • Serve as a backup for the dunning process, following up on weak customers

  • Participate in the credit renewal of international clients through a review of Saxo Bank’s credit risk

  • Solve ad hoc analytical credit-related reporting tasks  

  • Participate in credit-related projects

  • Manage other ad hoc issues

Your profile

For this position we are looking for a technical profile to join our team and we expect you to have a basic understanding of analysing companies and preferably financial institutions. You do not have to be an expert when it comes to analysing said foreign customers. With the job will follow a comprehensive training within the group credit department.
 

You can act independently in a dynamic organization, and you appreciate an informal, open-minded and positive work environment.

Further we are looking for a person with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor student (-Merc, -Polit, -Mat), preferably on your 2nd year

  • Structured and strong analytical approach to your tasks at hand

  • Possess IT skills in SQL, Python, and Power BI.

  • Ideally: holds insight into financial instruments and related trading activities  

  • You have a good overview of the duties and able to prioritize

  • Persistent in finding solutions
