Join our Material Supply Chain (MatSC) team as our Global Material Buy/Sell Director for our Footwear, Apparel and Accessories business. You will play a critical role helping us develop and mature a partner base for a key materials supply chain strategy execution lever. The role will identify and compare different buy/sell service providers across cost, service, transparency, etc, and create strategies for partner growth and buy-sell service building. This individual will work closely with a cross functional team as new buy/sell programs launch to pair programs with service providers, create strategy roadmaps and track on buy/sell business as well as measure supplier performance. This person will lead communication strategies on buy/sell programs as well as educate and communicate the importance of this work across diverse internal and external partners.
Success in this role requires the director to deeply understand materials supply chains, RFI and RFQ practices, supplier landscaping as well as best practices including costing, Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 relationships and the material development process. Knowledge of providers and capabilities across industries that provide trading services and Buy/Sell capabilities is also important to this role.
Additional responsibilities will include identifying and driving capability-building and program ownership across teams, representing the project to collaborators outside the Material Supply Chain, and harmonizing across all Product Engines for consistency and stability. The role requires a structured but flexible thinker and outstanding communicator who is comfortable with ambiguity, working cross-functionally, and influencing at all levels within the organization.
If this is you, you’ll be directly and indirectly leading a highly cross-functional team to create and scale our material palette programs for all Product Engines. You will also be responsible for working with the Nike Acceleration Office on this important enterprise initiative, ensuring tangible value is delivered to Nike based on the initiative expectations. Finally, you will drive regular communication, collaboration and alignment at all levels of the organization to ensure full success of the program is achieved and recognized.
This role works directly with Product Supply Chain teams, Demand Supply Management (DSM) teams, and Product Creation teams, as well as external service providers and material, Apparel and Footwear suppliers and factories. Interaction with these stakeholders will occur across all levels of the organization.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law + 8 yrs; Masters + 9 yrs; Associates degree + 11 yrs; High School + 12 yrs
Minimum 8 years' total experience in a variety of experiences including planning, sourcing, operations, or related fields
Ability to shape and drive strategic agendas and high-profile communications (compelling, high impact storyteller)
Ability to lead cross-functional and dedicated teams, provide project management expertise, and to manage multiple projects at once
Excellent problem structuring and strategic problem-solving skills, and seeks out opportunities for continuous improvements.
Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
Superior interpersonal and team skills
Have a strong bias for action. A self-guided and dedicated supply chain authority who has the passion to create future plans in support of business needs, through excellent understanding of E2E supply chain interdependencies.
Requires domestic and international travel up 25% of time, along with the flexibility to collaborate with global partners on their local times as needed
