Permanent

Location: Edinburgh (typically 3 days in the office per week, 2 from home)

We are now looking for a Market Data Vendor Manager to come and join us in Edinburgh, will will report to our Head of Market Data Management. This is a role that requires a good understanding of the market data and information services industry and how these services are used in the asset management industry. This role is central to the operation of the team as it includes ownership of the pipeline of work into the team and is the main point of contact for users in our global offices.

Excellent procurement and negotiation skills are required in order to manage our market data contracts as effectively as possible. This is a varied role where you will have responsibly for:

  • Procuring and renewing Market Data services required by the business in most cost-effective manner for AAM, developing sourcing strategies and category plans.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with data vendors to achieve favourable terms and conditions, whilst ensuring data/service usage and pricing is accurately recorded.
  • Maintaining an audit trail for all contracts and commercial agreements, ensuring all  commercial terms are accurately recorded on the Contract Management System.
  • As required, assist the Finance Team with escalation of invoicing issues.
  • Managing relationships with market data providers, ensuring service quality and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Conducting regular vendor service reviews including use of a clear vendor scorecard methodology.
  • Actively supervising actual system usage to ensure value is acquired and to feed into renewal discussions and regular service reviews.
  • Acting as the primary contact across the AAM business for services provided by the vendors within their remit.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand market data needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
  • Demand Management and fulfilment of requests.
  • Identifying initiatives which enhance AAM's Investment Toolkit.
  • Ensuring that the acquisition and use of market data comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Staying abreast of regulatory changes affecting market data and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance.
  • Working closely with the Compliance and Legal teams to address any regulatory concerns and support audits related to market data.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:  

  • Previous experience in a similar Market Data Vendor Manager role.
  • Excellent procuring and negotiation skills, showcasing excellent vendor management.
  • Exposure with working with market data – Investments and Index data.
  • Experience in working in budget management.
  • Knowledge of legal and commercial aspects of vendor licences.
  • Understanding of financial instruments and international exchanges
  • Strong problem analysis and creative thinking skills.
