Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking an Electrical Project Supervisor to join our team! The Electrical Project Supervisor is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of the assigned project. Must be a team player, accountable, driven, and inspire others.
The Electrical Project Supervisor will work closely with the project management team and field leadership to facilitate the industry-best quality, productive, safe, and timely completion of the assigned projects. They will assist the field leadership with planning and coordinating labor and material as required. They will develop relationships with the CM team and the Safety team on assigned projects. They will also help develop the growth of all direct reports. They will institute a ‘Safety First’ culture for the field. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
This position is 100% travel and offers per diem while working on our project sites. Site states include, but are not limited to, North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, etc.
What You’ll Do:
- Create a resource loading chart based on units of measures and budgets.
- Communicate and coordinate with all site management on workflow and production plans.
- Develop project-specific standard operating procedures regarding construction and safety.
- Responsible for leading, planning, and project execution.
- Responsible for executing construction.
- Ability to utilize the project controls for the overall benefit of the project execution team.
- In collaboration with the Project Manager, develop a detailed electrical construction schedule referencing the overall EPC project.
- Main point of contact for the construction team; attending management meetings, reviews, and project walks.
- Main point of contact for questions and responses for the field.
- Assist Project Manager with monthly financial projections for assigned projects.
- Work closely with field leadership on projects to provide a safe construction site, and a top-quality installation, and complete projects on budget and schedule.
- Demonstrates the ability to comprehend and execute contracts.
- Identify and quantify changes in design sets and assist the Project Manager with pricing for scope.
- Assist with the generation and tracking of RFIs and the implementation of the responses.
- Assist the Project Manager in proper and accurate file storage.
- Maintain completion drawings.
- Work with the management team to adopt best practices uniformly throughout the project.
- Leads with a continuous improvement of processes and standards.
- Help to develop the professional growth of any direct reports.
- Assist with weekly safety meetings, lead toolbox talks, and demonstrate an understanding of safe work.
- Help to execute a safety culture that has 100% engagement with the field team and practice core company values.
Must-Haves:
- 2-3+ years of experience in a Superintendent or General Foreman role.
- Experience working on a 100MW project or larger in the utility-scale solar/ renewable energy industry.
- Prior experience managing and leading a large team.
- Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Advanced knowledge of technology, installation methods, heavy equipment, and hand tools.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
- Demonstrated ability to control and supervise a large team.
- Understands cloud-based technology and how to utilize it.
- Knowledge of the use and operation of equipment and heavy equipment found on a PV site.
- Thorough understanding of all scopes of work of PV installation.
- Ability to multitask/ and demonstrate time management
- Ability to complete and finish assigned tasks.
- Ability to read and comprehend project drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to forecast the next steps in a process and implement a 6-week look ahead.
- Basic understanding and experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Ability to organize and manage file systems for all involved.
- Recognizing scope changes and principles of estimating.
- Ability to identify and embrace coaching and training opportunities for direct reports.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Fluent and bilingual in Spanish.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Must possess and maintain a current driver’s license required.
- Journeyman or Master Electrical License is preferred.
- OSHA-30 certification is preferred.
- NFPA 70E is preferred.
Working Environment and Physical Demand:
- 100% travel to assigned project(s) - this role requires flexibility in traveling to multiple states.
- The position requires travel to our project site(s).
- Must possess reliable transportation.
- Able to travel for extended periods to various locations.
- Ability to travel out-of-state for extended periods.
- Must follow organization policies and procedures.
- Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
- May require lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours daily.
