The Role

Pilot’s bread and butter is startups. We love startups. We’re a startup ourselves. Approximately 60% of our customers are startup companies, ranging from two people in a garage, to startups with hundreds of employees and full-time finance teams.

Pilot’s value proposition has resonated with startup companies because of this fact—we’re a startup and can speak credibly to startup founders about the journey they’re going through. Historically, we’ve had a lot of success working directly with startup accelerators, with very tactical involvement from Pilot’s own founders: whether it’s speaking to new accelerator batches, hosting office hours, or writing content designed to be helpful to founders.

We’d like to do more here, by deepening our relationship with startup accelerators (including accelerators like YC.)

You’ll work closely with other teams at Pilot—specifically, other folks on our marketing and partnerships teams—but this is also very much initially a green-field “roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty” project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Do things that are useful to startup founders, in a way that reflects well on the Pilot brand—with a particular focus on working with startup accelerators
  • Creatively think of, and execute on, initiatives that appeal to this audience that also demonstrate strong ROI
  • Provide clear and organized reporting around the impact and ROI of our initiatives

About you

  • You’re a formidable former startup founder
  • You’re scrappy, high-grit, hands-on—you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves (no job too small), and not afraid of ambiguity
  • You’re data-driven and analytical: you’ll be able to tell what’s working (and what should receive further investment) and what isn’t
  • You have exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • You viscerally understand the startup founder experience, which is why you can speak to founders credibly
  • You previously went through YC
  • Huge bonus points if you’re technical
