The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Associate Vice President, Advancement Services, Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement [R0144941]
ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement (PAE), the Associate Vice President for Advancement Services (AVP) provides strategic leadership for the University’s development infrastructure and serves as a key partner to colleagues on the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement leadership team. The AVP will collaborate with PAE Leadership to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes and staffing designed to support long term fundraising and donor engagement goals. The AVP will assist PAE Leadership to utilize data and analytics to drive fundraising success, especially in the context of UNLV’s future comprehensive campaign. The AVP will identify opportunities for continuous quality improvements and foster a positive, success oriented, accountable environment leveraging best practices accountability and key performance indicators.
The AVP is responsible for the strategic design, development and implementation of operational functions that provide a foundation for Philanthropy and Alumni Relations to achieve its goals in fundraising and constituent engagement. They will be charged with aligning business support functions,policies and procedures, and technology infrastructure with the strategies, resources, and priorities of the University. They will build, sustain, encourage, and support productive relationships with and among colleagues and develop and implement policies, practices, and systems in Advancement Operations. This position will advise the Vice President for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement regarding organizational development, vendor and constituent due diligence, information technology and database applications or platforms, staffing and any database-related training needs of the division and will be a central architect of management information tools that emphasize transparency of individual and team performance.
The AVP will provide day to day leadership, management and direction for a dynamic team of professionals in the administration of the following functions for UNLV’s PAE Division: Advancement Reporting and Analytics, Information Technology and Database Management, Procedure Development and Documentation, Records Management, Prospect Research and Moves Management, and Gift Processing and Gift Receipting (joint with accounting). The AVP is responsible for all aspects of Blackbaud NXT database, selection and management of a variety of additional software tools. The AVP works in collaboration with members of the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Executive Leadership team to recommend appropriate courses of action to demonstrate and sustain a culture of service and business support to enhance engagement and philanthropic giving to the University.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with a preference in business, information systems, data analytics or organizational design. A minimum of 10 years of demonstrable leadership experience with a preference for leadership in higher education advancement. Proficiency with technology. Advanced knowledge of fundraising computer systems with experience optimizing system performance and functionality to support comprehensive campaigns. Track record of success in identifying opportunities and leading organizational change. Experience preparing an organization for change, and exhibiting consideration for the impact of change on current programs, resources, budget and staff. Ability to translate strategic goals into operational priorities, followed by the development of clear and concise operating plans. Prior success in leading teams.

Advanced degree preferred.
