This role ideally will be suitable for someone looking for full-time work. However if you're the right candidate we can chat about part-time or casual positions. You will join a team of highly motivated individuals with access to state of the art equipment, education support and professional development opportunities. The position is a Monday to Friday role, however at times, weekend work is available. The Anaesthetics Nurse and Recovery Nurse will play a pivotal role in planning and delivering nursing care to patients and work as part of the perioperative team. Participation in the on call roster may be required pending your skills and experience.
You will bring your passion to the role where you will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in all learning and development activities and be exposed to the latest surgical and medical approaches, new technologies and integrated methods of patient care. The role is fast paced, with opportunities to work within a variety of surgical specialities, including endoscopy, general surgery, ear, nose and throat, plastics, orthopaedic, neurosurgical and cardiothoracic surgery, among others!

Your skills and experience:
As an outstanding Registered Nurse, you are equipped with a minimum two plus years post graduate experience in perioperative nursing.
Your skills will include:
AHPRA registration
Experience working with Anaesthetics or PACU/ Recovery
Strong knowledge of and ability to manage post-operative complications and respond to patient deterioration quickly and efficiently
Ability to quickly recognise respiratory compromise and take necessary action
Excellent assessment skills
Knowledge of pain management methods and medications
Knowledge of anaesthetic methods, anaesthetic agents and equipment
Excellent computer literacy and experience with electronic patient record system would be an advantage.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work within the interdisciplinary team.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment.
Strong commitment to providing excellent clinical care and continued professional development.
Demonstrated understanding of the roles and functions of a Anaesthetic Nurse or Recovery Nurse
Remuneration:
St. Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney Nurses' EA. Registered Nurse Year 1 – Year 8: $36.62 - $51.43 based on experience level and relevant qualifications + salary packaging + superannuation, exclusive of shift penalties or allowances.
