Tax Manager (m/f/d)  

LOCATION: Frankfurt am Main

About the department:

The taxation team plays a central role in ensuring that abrdn Investments Deutschland AG (abrdn ID AG) meets all tax obligations accurately and on time.

The team are responsible for meeting the regulatory demands on Investment Management Companies which are extensive and ever evolving. The team implement these complex requirements, especially in the areas of fund taxation and abrdn ID AG itself.

You would become the fourth member of the team and, would play an important role in ensuring that the above responsibilities are met.

About the role:

  • Active support and monitoring of tax law issues for the local Investment Management Company (AIFM) and the managed (real estate) funds/special purpose vehicles (SPVs)

  • Support in the preparation, review and coordination of tax declarations and assessments, tax reporting and documentation of tax processes

  • Support and assistance with external tax audits for the managed (real estate) funds/SPVs and the AIFM as well as their preparation and follow-up

  • Execution and further development of the Tax Compliance Management System (TCMS) as well as maintenance and documentation of the system including the tax control processes

  • Advice and processing of tax issues in the area of property tax and real estate transfer tax

  • Support in the implementation and management of tax projects, product developments, structuring and (real estate) transactions

  • Support in strategic tax planning, participation in the development and implementation of measures for tax optimization and planning

  • Contact person for tax issues throughout the company and for external lawyers, tax consultants and auditors as well as other external service providers and (financial) authorities

About the candidate:

  • Degree in business administration, law or a comparable degree, ideally with a focus on tax, finance or accounting

  • Several years of tax experience from a tax consultancy or real estate environment  

  • Fluency in English

  • Strong understanding of numbers and analytical thinking

  • Very team-oriented way of working with project management experience

  • Proactive way of working and assertiveness
