The opportunity:

Within the risk team we are an actively engaged Risk function supporting the business through a period of expansion, both in the UK and internationally. By joining the team you will play a key part in working across a wide range of corporate and business activities, lending variety and challenge to our working lives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support and enhance our Risk function, review and challenge how the risk framework operates and make suggestions for improvement
  • Support our work across Enterprise Risk Management, Solvency II, Internal Model, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Investment Risk, Risk Strategy, Risk Culture, Operational Risk, Emerging Risks and the Risk controls framework
  • Be a catalyst in the quarterly risk management process (including supporting risk owner meetings) and other internal and external deliverables
  • Undertake risk analysis using quantitative data and qualitative information, setting the results into appropriate context
  • Recommend and implement process or analytic improvements
  • Analysis of risk events and near misses / link to risks on the risk register and support the work on deep dives
  • Support the work on the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) reporting processes as well as work on the Internal Model validation process.

Our must-haves:

  • Exposure to analysing data sets and draw conclusions
  • Be able to bring together general business knowledge and technical risk knowledge
  • Have a basic understanding of Solvency II and internal models and insurance business models/ underwriting products
  • Have the ability to see tasks out to completion as well as coordinate project work and provide timely updates.
  • Strong communication as well as ability to interact with the wider business and key stakeholders.
  • Be able to write simple reports and communicate technical information in a way that is easy to understand, digest and apply.
