Are you a passionate UI Designer who thrives on visual and interaction excellence? We are looking for a UI Designer to help set the benchmark for design quality across EROAD’s digital products. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys raising standards, building scalable design systems, and enabling teams to deliver consistent, high-quality user interfaces at scale.

About the role

Based in Auckland and reporting to the Digital Experience Director, this role focuses on leading the evolution of EROAD’s design system to production-ready maturity. You will work closely with UX Designers, product managers, and engineers to define and deliver high-quality visual and interaction standards, while actively producing hands-on UI designs that are implemented across EROAD’s digital products.

As a UI Designer, you will be responsible for:

• Setting and maintaining visual and interaction design standards that are consistent, accessible, and on brand
• Leading the expansion and maturity of the design system, including components, tokens, patterns, and documentation
• Translating conceptual UX designs into scalable UI solutions aligned to the design system
• Providing targeted hands-on UI and interaction design where it drives quality or delivery outcomes
• Supporting UX Designers in effective use of design system components
• Collaborating with engineers to ensure high-fidelity implementation of designs
• Advocating for and applying accessibility standards across all interfaces
• Conducting visual and interaction design reviews to continuously lift quality and consistency
• Monitoring adoption of the design system and driving continuous improvement through feedback

Skills and experience

• Expert visual design capability including layout, typography, colour theory, and iconography
• Strong understanding of interaction design and microinteractions
• Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, including complex component libraries
• Experience designing responsive interfaces for web and Apps across multiple platforms
• Strong collaboration and facilitation skills across design, product, and engineering
• Solid knowledge of accessibility standards and how to embed them into UI and design systems
• 3+ years professional experience as a UI Designer or similar role on digital products
• A strong portfolio demonstrating interface and interaction design mastery
• Experience building and maintaining design systems used by multiple teams
