Job Summary

This position works in a collaborative team dedicated to supporting the statewide sales and retention of small employer groups (with 2-50 employees) through direct contact with employers and insurance agents to ensure Priority Health achieves its overall membership, new business, retention, and financial goals. This comes with the responsibility of an assigned sales territory with expectations the Sales rep will respond to employer and agent inbound/outbound calls and emails, attend periodic external employer and agent meetings, and collaborate with internal departments to meet these customer needs. Consults and educates on benefits of Priority Health medical plans to current and prospective employers, members, and agents. Some travel may be needed to support our clients.

Essential Functions

  • Responds for inbound/outbound phone calls from agents, employer groups, and internal customers.

  • Responsible for education to agent community regarding Priority Health's small group benefit plans including participation rules, enrollment and sales processes, product information, competitive differences, and the value proposition of Priority Health.

  • Daily management of job responsibilities utilizing Salesforce and OnBase, responding to emails, inquiries from agents and employers, proactive outreach to targeted renewal opportunities and renewal submissions. Attend and participate in weekly staff meeting to strategize and discuss improvements and pertinent issues regarding small group renewal sales activity.

  • Actively involved in all renewal opportunities, including identifying, strategizing, quoting, educating, and renewing existing groups to improve the Small Business retention.

  • Work collaboratively with the coordinator team and other statewide Sales reps to ensure successful completion of monthly renewals for individual territory and overall team. 

  • Account for work performed and track maintenance of membership through completion of monthly reports, SalesForce and requests from Manager etc.

  • Responsibility is to offer agents and employer groups with the highest level of customer service. 

  • Identify opportunities within Sales rep’s territory for upcoming open enrollment presentations and external renewal and educational meetings to agents and employer groups as needed.

  • Abide by departmental standards for excellent phone service in the Small Business call center, including timely problem resolution to employer groups and agents. Communicate effectively with internal departments to gather information, answer questions and promptly resolve issues identified by employers or agents.

  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding annual targeted retention goals.

  • Attend continuing education classes to maintain active State of Michigan Health agent licenses.

Qualifications

Required

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of relevant experience Required
  • LIC-Health Agent License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Small Business Sales
    180 Days required

Preferred

  • 2 years of relevant experience in heath insurance industry Preferred
  • 2 years of relevant experience in customer service or sales Preferred
