Looking for a role that will have a meaningful impact in the insurance industry? You will be part of our Underwriting Support team comprised of 17 underwriting assistants in all offices across Canada. The team provides administrative assistance to over 50 underwriters in all locations.

The opportunity: We are looking for an individual to join our underwriting support team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Completing assignments in a timely and accurate manner. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Policy issuance
  • Bordereaux entry
  • Broker of Record changes
  • Policy cancellation, extension or mid-term adjustment
  • Other underwriting administration tasks as required
  • Proactively making suggestions and recommendations for improvement.
  • Staying current on all new workflows and UW bulletins
  • Understanding regional differences and working together to create consistency across Markel Canada.
  • Regular communication with Manager/Team re workload and priorities.
  • Participating in National Team meetings and relating key information back to UST.
  • Supporting the successful implementation of new technologies and processes

Our must haves:

  • An interest in working with commercial insurance products and in their administration
  • Understand the Canadian and Western insurance markets
  • Be a proficient Microsoft Office user
  • Be ready to work in a change environment
  • React readily to shifting deadlines and be able to prioritize their work
