Job Summary:

To provide general administrative support for a department/area. To respond to patient and/or staff needs by consulting with others as appropriate and by following established departmental guidelines.

Education & Experience

Associate's degree or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration required:  N/A

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of office procedures. Knowledge of customer service principles and procedures. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to abide by the rules, regulations, and procedures governing work.

Responsibilities

  • Performs transcription or data entry.
  • Gathers and compiles information as requested.
  • Answers telephones, takes messages, and refers calls.
  • Maintains and updates filing systems for department records, employee files, department correspondence, and other files.
  • Schedules meetings or arranges appointments as directed to include room reservation, material preparations, and food service if needed.
  • Maintains department supplies; collects and distributes communications materials.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
