Overview:

Reviews hazard insurance for the Commercial, Business Banking, and Leasing portfolios. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate flood and hazard insurance for the real estate assets covered under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and vehicle portfolios.
• Interact with internal business partners and external insurance agents to obtain updated insurance information.
• Generate and clear exceptions for insurance deficiencies.
• Support regulatory examinations and reviews as requested.
• Escalate deficiencies in insurance to more experienced personnel as needed.                                                                                                                                                                          
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The team uses the collateral tracking system and Filenet and works closely with Document Preparation, Post-Closing, Compliance, lending staff and insurance agents in carrying out its responsibilities.  Calls and e-mails are sent to insurance agents to verify insurance is in place. 

Education and Experience Required:

Associate’s degree, or in lieu a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years’ higher education and/or work experience

Education and Experience Preferred:

Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.11 Hourly (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
