The Radiochemist will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of complex radiopharmaceutical projects, ensuring they meet regulatory standards, timelines, and budgetary goals. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in radiochemistry and strong project management skills to lead cross-functional teams, resolve technical challenges, and drive innovation in radiopharmaceutical development. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader with a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary projects within the pharmaceutical industry, committed to advancing cutting-edge therapies that improve patient outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Lead and manage radiochemistry projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and communication strategies.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including chemists, engineers, regulatory specialists, and external partners.
    • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure successful outcomes.
    • Prepare and present project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Radiochemistry Expertise:
    • Provide technical leadership in radiochemistry, including the design, synthesis, and characterization of radiopharmaceuticals.
    • Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new radiochemical processes and products.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., FDA, EMA) and quality standards (e.g., GMP, GLP).
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to radiochemical processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Work closely with regulatory affairs to ensure all projects adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and review documentation for regulatory submissions and audits.
    • Ensure that all project activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Budget and Resource Management:
    • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
    • Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory agencies.
    • Communicate project goals, progress, and outcomes effectively to all stakeholders.
    • Manage client expectations and ensure high levels of satisfaction.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science with a focus on physics or chemistry (preference for Radiochemistry) + 2 years of experience in physics or radiochemistry OR Master’s degree + 1 year of experience in physics or radiochemistry.
  • Proven experience in collaborating in cross-functional projects in the pharmaceutical or radiopharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep knowledge of isotope science, including production methods, applications, and regulatory considerations. Familiarity with the latest advancements in the field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively present complex information to a variety of audiences, including scientific, regulatory, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to anticipate and respond to industry trends and challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with external stakeholders, including academic institutions, industry partners, and regulatory agencies.
