POSITION OVERVIEW:
Internships focus on entry-level general work experience university students who are still figuring out their career options and collecting practical experience mostly during the semester breaktime. It is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical, project-based work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. Internships offer students the opportunity for career exploration, professional development, and skills building. It offers the Alcon Global Services Centre in Petaling Jaya to bring new, fresh ideas and energy into the workplace, to develop talents, and to build a pipeline for potential full-time employees

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Journal Entries and General Ledger: 

- Participate in the recording of journal entries and adjustments

- Help maintain the accuracy of the general ledger

• Account Reconciliations & Data Analysis

- Assist in the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account reconciliations

- Analyse financial data and provide insights

• Audit & Tax schedule:

- Assist in the preparation BS schedules for internal and external audits. (which is simple)

• Process Documentation:

- Document and update standard operating procedures for R2R processes
 

What you may expect from us:

• System Utilization:

- Gain hands-on experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Blackline ). Learn how to perform data extraction and analysis using financial software

• Professional Development:

- Actively engage in learning opportunities to enhance technical and professional skills

• Ad Hoc Projects:

- Participate in ad hoc projects related to process improvements or special initiatives
 

Key Performance Indicators:
 

Ensure completion of assigned financial reporting tasks within established deadlines

Maintain accurate and complete documentation of R2R processes and procedures

Successfully reconcile assigned sheet accounts each month
 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education:

• Talented and ambitious students or recent graduates with a Diploma in Accounting or those who are finalists in certification programs for accountancy (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.)

Languages:

• Mandarin & English
