Your New Role

CNN is looking for a VP of Growth Marketing to lead all marketing efforts for our new digital subscription product offering. This person will be responsible for launching, growing and retaining CNN subscribers. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of full funnel marketing tactics for subscription-based products and knows how to work cross-functionally with product, content and creative brand marketers to deliver results. 

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Develop and own the full funnel marketing strategy: Working closely with the SVP, Growth, the Growth Product Lead, and the Brand Marketing team to create and implement a comprehensive growth marketing strategy to increase awareness, drive subscriber acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.

  • Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing growth marketing team focused on lifecycle management and acquisition, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize analytics and customer insights to deeply understand the levers of the business, identify opportunities for growth, and continuously optimize campaigns and make recommendations to product to improve performance metrics such as conversion rates, ROI, and retention.

  • Campaign Management: Work closely with the central WBD marketing teams to oversee the strategy and planning of multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital (SEO/SEM, display advertising, social media), email, and other relevant channels.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Content, and Analytics and teams to align marketing strategies with product and content initiatives, ensuring cohesive and impactful marketing efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10-15 years of experience with a proven track record of success in progressively more senior growth marketing roles.

  • Experience in subscription-based or digital media companies, with a strong understanding of subscription business models, developing and executing data-driven marketing strategies that have significantly increased user acquisition and retention metrics.

  • Experience hiring and managing a team of marketers and specialists.

  • Deep knowledge of full funnel marketing digital marketing channels, tools, and best practices, including brand, SEO, SEM, social media advertising, email marketing, and content marketing.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and with centralized teams to get things done.

  • Operate with a sense of urgency and entrepreneurial spirit, solving problems and facing headwinds with a creative ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using data analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel) to drive decisions.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $140,013.00 - $260,023.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
