Job Description:

Marketing Executive

[insert company] are seeking to appoint a confident and experienced Marketing Executive to play a pivotal role delivering our marketing activities to drive enquiries and sales opportunities which will ultimately fuel the rapid growth of our business.

You will be required to play a key role delivering all elements of our marketing plans.  Focusing hard on lead generation through our inbound marketing strategy you will have the digital marketing skills to maximise the impact of our extensive research by managing our website and especially our blog.  You will also be able to manage successful email marketing campaigns, organise our presence at major tradeshows, arrange workshops and events, design marketing material, write copy, undertake competitor analysis, contribute to strategy…the list goes on and yes, you will be busy!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The core responsibilities of the position are to:

  • Execute all elements of our marketing plan, focusing on maximising the impact and results of our inbound strategy.  Maintaining and managing our website content, especially our blogs, to drive interest and enquiries
  • Manage e-shots to various databases as required including maintaining mailing lists, writing copy, working with designers to create designs, proofing content, sending mailings and reporting on results
  • Manage and maximise the value of Google AdWords and Analytics as well as our social media
  • Oversee the creation of all marketing collateral, for example, flyers, roll banners, posters etc. by liaising effectively between relevant colleagues and suppliers
  • Organise all requirements to successfully host and/or attend events (e.g. trade shows, workshops, seminars, webinars etc.) including but not limited to exhibition stands, printed collateral, staffing, travel, shipping, attendee/delegate lists and accommodation by liaising effectively between relevant colleagues and suppliers
  • Fully understand our products and services and undertake regular reviews of competitors to understand and maximise our USP’s.
  • Contribute to the creation of an annual marketing plan with creativity, energy and a flair for new ideas – and maintain this approach throughout delivery
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all suppliers but especially oversee the activity and output of designers
  • Provide visibility of all marketing activity status through accurate and timely completion of reports required by senior management
  • Work closely with [insert manager] to ensure all marketing activities are delivered on budget and on time
  • Deliver agreed individual objectives and play a full and active part in delivering Sales and Marketing Team objectives

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant qualifications are important but, in this role, the right attitude mixed in with some previous experience will get you most of the way there!

  • Strong written and numerical skills (minimum GCSE grade A-C Math’s and English)
  • Experience working in a marketing team.  A particular focus on digital marketing is desirable
  • Experience using Google AdWords and Analytics is advantageous
  • Experience maintaining accurate mailing lists/databases
  • Experience of updating website content and regular blogs
  • Experience of working closely with suppliers specifically designers
  • Marketing qualifications are desirable

Your Personal Characteristics will include:

  • Be creative, keen to share and adopt new ideas with a proactive and enthusiastic ‘can do’ attitude
  • Have strong organisational skills, pay attention to detail and be able to organise and influence others in similar ways
  • Have the skills to balance the demands of multiple marketing activities on different continents and ensure all elements progress on time and on budget
  • Be a great communicator (both written and verbal), able to liaise with colleagues and suppliers to deliver great activity and results
  • Be able to build effective and positive relationships
  • Be a competent user of MS office packages such as word, excel and power point
  • Familiarity with content management software (e.g. Word Press) and e-shot packages (e.g. Mail Chimp) would be advantageous
  • Be able to learn other IT applications with appropriate training.  Experience of Salesforce is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team as required
  • Need flexibility to occasionally travel to various sites around the UK
  • Need flexibility to work additional and varied hours when required
  • Hold a full driving license and use of a vehicle is advantageous
