Job DescriptionEnterprise Software Sales Director 

 

HP’s Global Software Team is currently seeking an accomplished Enterprise Sales Leader to drive growth across its Specialist Sales teams in North American and other targeted markets globally. The Sales Director will be responsible for establishing and executing growth plans through sales executive, and sales operations oversight.  

 

To fulfil the requirements of the role, the individual performing the position should have exceptional communication skills with C-Level executives. The ideal candidate must have a successful track record of driving sales through both a direct sales motion as well as channels and have industry relationships, and ensuring sales executives are successfully and effectively closing deals through the software sales cycle.  Experience of selling software is essential and previous experience of migrating a hardware business to a software business is highly desirable. 

 

Specific responsibilities of the new Enterprise Software Sales Director will include: 

 

  • Proven sales leadership within SaaS and Security engagements across the NA and global market 

  • Demonstrated experience of scaling a business to $75M+ 

  • Sales leadership experience within a large, complex matrixed organization 

  • Demonstrate success in driving growth in new markets 

  • Pipeline management of a team with an annual TCV target of $15M+ 

  • Oversee, lead, hire, train and promote continuous development of sales professionals 

  • Extensive client & industry relationships across North America 

  • Proven ability to develop, socialize and execute Go-to-Market strategies 

  • Demonstrate successful experience working with interdisciplinary account teams, e.g., Delivery, Operations, Contracts, Pursuit, Solution Architects, Finance, and Recruiting 

  • Proven ability to employ solution-selling techniques to identify business needs and develop customized solutions to solve client business problems 

  • Demonstrate success as a dynamic executive leader in customer relationship building, industry engagement and marketing efforts 

  • Strong writing skills required 

  • Periodic domestic and international travel may be required 

 

Minimum Education and Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or computer science. Advanced degree desirable. 

  • 15+ years of experience in a large vendor, SI, Professional Services and/or Management Consulting firm, with at least 10 years of management experience. 

  • 15+ years of experience as an individual contributor selling IT Solutions or Professional Services 

  • 10+ years managing sales professionals selling Software and/or Security Software 

  • Based in North America

Per the California statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location, at the time of this posting, is $230,000 – $396,000 USD.  This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
