About This Internship

Arch’s 10-week summer internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.

About This Role

  • Gain hands-on experience in insuring entertainment-related risks, including property and casualty exposures.

  • Assist underwriters in collecting and analyzing necessary data for risk assessment.

  • Learn how to compile and evaluate loss history data and details of prior losses.

  • Support the review of small film productions (i.e. commercials, music videos), music, and event production activities, including performers and event site plans.

  • Coordinate with the risk control team to provide up-to-date information to underwriters.

  • Engage in real-world underwriting tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic industry.

Qualifications

  • Actively completing area of study in Insurance & Risk Management, Finance, Business Analytics, Entertainment Business, Music Business, Data Analytics, or related programs.

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher. 

  • College level – current Junior or Senior.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, required.

  • Experience with data visualization tools preferred.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner. 

  • Team player who collaborates effectively.

  • Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Location & Work Arrangement 

  • The program dates are June 2 - August 8, 2025.

  • This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 2 days onsite and 3 days from home. 

  • This position is in New York City, NY.

Timeline 

Arch summer internship positions will be posted from Sept 2024 and will be unposted when filled.  

Pay   

For individuals assigned to or hired to work in New York City, NY, the hourly rate is $22-30 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate. The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
