As part of our commitment to sustainability and in response to the evolving global reporting landscape and requirements, we are hiring a Sustainability Reporting Manager. Our aim is to further develop and implement robust sustainability reporting methodology and processes aligned with the purpose of ABB, its business objectives, and sustainability initiatives.

In this critical role, you will prepare the EU Taxonomy reporting,  including integrating any regulatory changes, prepare quarterly reporting on a subset of ESG metrics, align with and contribute to climate risk assessment , including alignment on site-scoping, and contribute to report writing.

Your collaboration with the global corporate functions and business areas will be essential in meeting these goals, adhering to best practices, and adapting to evolving standards.

Your role and responsibilities:

Regulatory competence:

  • Support the wider organization with regulatory competence, with a special focus on EU Taxonomy.

  • Support internal stakeholders in translating regulatory requirements into concrete actions and disclosures.

  • Review methodologies and working documentation across various ESG reporting topics for their regulatory compliance.

  • Support developing ABB’s position for regulatory consultations.

  • Develop and deliver training on relevant sustainability reporting topics.

EU Taxonomy:

  • Monitor regulatory changes and best practices related to EU Taxonomy.

  • Propose practical implementation of these changes / best practices.

  • Prepare and coordinate annual EU Taxonomy assessments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and proper documentation. Present the results to all relevant stakeholders.

  • Streamline fulfillment of requirements between EU Taxonomy and ESRS.

  • Prepare EU Taxonomy disclosures in the Sustainability Statement.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful external assurance.

  • Provide input for regulatory consultations and trade association position papers; co-ordinate with internal stakeholders.

Optimization of processes and tools:

  • Drive process optimization.

  • Drive further development of reporting tools and processes, with a special focus on EU Taxonomy and related processes.

Internal stakeholder communication:

  • Ensure internal stakeholders are consulted and informed on all matters regarding relevant processes, in particular EU Taxonomy.

  • Create presentations for various meetings, including Steering Committees when applicable.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree – Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial and sustainability reporting.

  • Thorough understanding of the sustainability reporting landscape, especially CSRD / EU Taxonomy.

  • Extensive experience in practical application of EU Taxonomy requirements.

  • Skilled in developing relevant ESRS disclosures.

  • Ability to deliver under tight timelines

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and reporting activities in a clear and effective way to stakeholders at various levels.

  • Proficient ability to summarize and visualize with PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.

  • Ability to comfortably work across teams of different cultures and time zones. 

  • Very high proficiency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in German is a plus.

  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Switzerland. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
