NVIDIA is looking for an experienced Critical Component Engineer to join the Networking Mechanical R&D department as a key player in developing industry’s best in class high speed communication devices. This position includes early involvement in configuring and qualifying critical electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical components for next generation products while ensuring our products integrity, reliability and performance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work closely with design teams on configuring, qualifying and assessing mechanical reliability and integrity of new critical electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical components.

  • Take a leading position in task-forces/failure-analysis. Investigate reliability issues and provide practical solutions for implementation.

  • Able to formulate and conduct DOEs, examine corner conditions, and apply statistical analysis tools.

  • Actively participate in technical industrial spec committees (such as OCP, PCIe, SFF, MSA, IEEE).

What we need to see:

  • B.Sc. (or higher degree) in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 8+ years of experience in working with or development of high-speed connectivity solutions including connectors, sockets, twinax cables and optical fibers.

  • High awareness for quality and manufacturability, and understanding of statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.

  • Self-motivated autodidact, with strong problem-solving drive.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills both in Hebrew and English.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience in electro-mechanical product design, including PCB/PCBA design.

  • Experience in working with supply chains, contract manufacturers and leading resources such as consultants, component suppliers, contractors, and manufacturing partners.

  • Strong statistical and data-analysis background (JMP or other tools).

  • Experience with CAD and mechanical stress simulation tools (such as ANSYS)

  • Experience in formulating design methodologies, industrial specifications and supervising implementation and training.
