The Project Manager in this role manages the design, bidding and construction phases of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation infrastructure and special construction projects. 

 

A caregiver in this position works 8:00am—5:00pm.  


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Organize, chairs and represents the Owner at regular project meetings; provide advice that will help facilitate economical, efficient, and desired outcomes. 

  • Manage and design bidding and construction phases of the Cleveland Clinic infrastructure and special construction projects. 

  • Review and provide technical assistance on construction specifications on construction specifications, architectural drawings, and design standards. 

  • Coordinate the contract bidding process. 

  • Manage the on-site inspection of contractor's work including scheduling and coordinating the installation of interior appliances. 

  • Review and approve financial components of the projects, provides reports and makes presentations to administration on the progress of construction projects. 

  • Complete finishing details of projects, submitting certificates of completion and finalizing records related to projects completed. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Construction Management, or related program (Additional work experience may substitute the degree requirement). 

  • Five years of experience in Project/Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public/Healthcare Facility Construction with full responsibility for coordinating single trade OR multiple trade projects with construction values over $5M. 

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in the State of Ohio. 

  • A valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI). 

  • A valid Certified Healthcare Constructor credential by the American Hospital Association. 

  • Experience with LEAN design and construction principles and techniques, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects, and utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). 

  • Knowledge of construction/architectural terms and practices, ability to read construction documents and actively participate in contract processes. 

  • Can provide an overview and recommendations on engineering, design and scope, contract terms, budgets, change management, schedules, extensions, and resolution of issues throughout the project life cycle. 

  • Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects. 

  • Elevated level of organizational skills, can work well under pressure, is sensitive to confidential information, can demonstrate ability in engaging stakeholders and providing options to resolve problems. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and web-based software. 

  • Experience with architectural drawings, specifications, blueprints, thorough knowledge of skilled trades, fire and safety codes, Contract documentation and construction finance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires extensive sitting and dexterity to perform work on a PC, and the ability to walk various hospital campuses to attend meetings.

  • Must have normal or corrected vision, and the ability to verbally communicate to upper level management.

  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 15 pounds.

  • Frequent walking, climbing of ladders and scaffolding is required.

  • Must have ability to travel to other CC locations and active construction project sites and navigate over obstacles including the dexterity to safely walk a construction site on a daily.
