About the Role:

 GEICO, subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway and a leader in Auto insurance and other product lines, is on a multi-year technology transformation journey to reimagine the customer experience in the Insurance industry by removing friction across Customers, Partners, Marketplace, Segments, Channels, and build a world class experience powered by technology.

As part of this once in a life-time opportunity to build and make a real impact, we are looking  fora Tech Fellow, that will serve as a pivotal leader and visionary within our organization, shaping the technical strategy and driving innovation across critical initiatives with a focus on Applied AI. This role is designed for a seasoned technologist with a proven track record of delivering transformative solutions and mentoring high-performing teams.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Technical Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the organization's technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Serve as a thought leader, advising senior executives on emerging technologies and their strategic implications.
  • Identify and evaluate disruptive technologies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Lead initiatives to design, prototype, and implement scalable solutions that address complex business challenges.
  • Guide and inspire engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Act as a mentor to senior engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.
  • Partner with product, design, and operations teams to deliver high-impact, user-focused solutions.
  • Drive alignment and integration of technology initiatives across departments
  • Oversee the architecture of large-scale, distributed systems, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Review and approve critical design decisions to mitigate technical risk and ensure best practices.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and technical communities.
  • Publish white papers, blogs, or patents to enhance the organization's reputation as a technology leader.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, architecture, or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale, high-impact technology projects.
  • Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, and scalable architectures.
  • Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Experience mentoring and developing senior technical talent.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred but not required).


 

Annual Salary

$195,000.00 - $315,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
