Current Need:

The Sr. Director of Data Strategy & Innovation will be responsible for developing and executing a forward-thinking data strategy that transforms how the organization utilizes data to drive business outcomes.  This role will focus on modernizing data architecture, implementing advanced analytics, and fostering a culture of innovation through data driven decisions making.  This role will play a critical role in aligning data initiatives with broader business objectives, ensuring that data is a key enabler of innovation, customer insights, and operational efficiency.   

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Execution:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals and drives innovation across the organization  
  • Lead the modernization of data architecture, ensuring that data systems are scalable, secure, and capable of supporting advanced analytics.   

Innovation through Data:

  • Foster a culture of innovation by enabling data driven decision making and empowering teams to utilize data in new ways while maintaining compliance standards  

Advanced Analytics & Business Intelligence:

  • Lead the implementation of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools that provide actionable insights, drive efficiencies, and support strategic decision-making  
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure data initiatives are aligned with business needs and deliver measurable value. 

Data Governance & Compliance:

  • Establish and oversee robust data governance practices to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.  

Team Leadership & Development: 

  • Build, lead, and develop high performing data strategy and analytics team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives, particularly in driving cultural shifts towards data driven decision making and modern data practices. 

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 13+ years in data strategy, analytics, or a related role with demonstrated ability to drive innovation through data AND 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills.

Critical Skills:

  • Strategic Leader: Proven track record of driving change and delivering high-quality results. INSPIRE. LEVERAGE. ADVANCE. 
  • 13+ years in data strategy, analytics, or a related role with demonstrated ability to drive innovation through data.
  • Strong expertise in modern data architecture, advanced analytics, and business intelligence.
  • Experience leading data transformation initiatives within complex organizations.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills, with a passion for fostering innovation and continuous learning.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and data protection regulations. 
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Physical Requirements

  • General office demands 
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 20% of the time

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$153,800 - $256,400
