GLOBAL FACILITIES SOUTH ASIA REGIONAL CHEMICAL ENGINEER

As the Global Facilities Regional Engineering Chemical Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support, expertise, and lead business process alignment on construction project design, management, schedule, cost control, testing & commissioning, operational and maintenance programs for the facility Chemical & Slurry systems at all manufacturing sites in your location / region.

As a global team member residing in your current site/geography, you will represent all facility design standard alignment, construction project management, O&M BKM alignment initiatives.  You will also support the Global Facilities Central Engineering Team, Construction Team , Line Planning Team and O&M Team in providing critical design standard alignment, supplier quality improvement, operational and maintenance input and support construction projects.

Critical metrics include construction project management, schedule, cost control, safety index, and facilities system reliability improvement program in eliminating production events that minimize lost moves and scrap.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Design and construction of regional green field project with alignment to global standards and collaboration with central sustainability, cost, construction and line planning team.
  • Engineering support for site projects, Alpha to Beta technology transfer and sustainability projects
  • Review and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability capex
  • Review priority and make business driven decision on Facilities Reliability Improvement project capex
  • Reliability
  • Engineering support for site system improvement projects (System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement and Equipment EOL replacements)
  • Oversee regional efforts and identify opportunities to align strategic program (eg BCP, Critical spec, Quality Defense line)
  • Engineering support for major SIPP review
  • Regional events lesson learnt sharing and influence of global standards development
  • Communication
  • Single point of contact for regional sites and GFC central teams
  • Provide alignment on metrics reporting

  • Expert understanding of each sites Chemical & Slurry systems operational and maintenance capabilities to provide critical support.
  • In addition to your global Chemical engineering role you will also provide site/regional support for global facility initiatives at your location/region
  • Technically lead a global cross functional team focused on project, design, construction, operational excellence with the site Chemical systems engineers
  • Provide support to all sites including on site presence for construction project and critical Chemical & Slurry failures.
  • Teamwork with site to assist and Provide Expertise on Chemical & Slurry Systems.
  • Improve the network Chemical and Slurry systems operational and maintenance.
  • Provide support to all sites including on site presence for critical Chemical & Slurry system failures including, but not limited to supporting FIPA reviews (root cause analysis), and providing recommendations and lessons learned for site sharing .
  • Creation of Operational BKM’S to improve operation and Maintenance in the network .
  • Identify Chemical and Slurry Defense Line 2 Gaps and carry out improvement and Alignment.
  • Provide support for facility initiatives globally.
  • Actively Review all chemical & Slurry Related events to identify the gaps and share the LL with network.
  • Every Capital Request from network to be review with site team to improve or justify the request to leaders and cost saving opportunity.
  • Identify and deploy cost reduction efforts throughout the network
  • In addition to your global Chemical systems engineering role you will also provide site/regional support for global facility initiatives at your location Support Common FOCT Methodologies .
  • Actively involved in TPM implementation and alignment along with ongoing support for Chemical & Slurry systems
  • Drive improvement in the quality of our utilities through variation reduction (SPC).
  • Site Assessment and ensure effective and consistent PM and predictive maintenance programs, procedures and checklists across the network .
  • Analyze and benchmark equipment performance Support Training, Metrics, and Communication Programs
  • Identify and develop training and certification programs that support global and site efforts
  • Regularly Review and advise on current BKMs, and creation of new BKMs where needed
  • Collaborate with OCT and GFAC Central to improve the facility operation and process defect
  • Responsible for expansion and Construction new fab for chemical and Slurry system .
  • Collaborate with System OEM to improve system design and reliability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent analytical and good decision making skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration with other groups, internally and externally
  • Proven ability to solve problems across multi-functional and multi-cultural groups within and outside facilities

Education Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering or any related field of study

Experience Required 

  • 8+ years of Facility Engineering experience

Experience Desired

  • Lead or actively involved in global facility engineering efforts
