Branch Manager Responsibilities:
Directs and monitors all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions and completes formal performance evaluations of all department managers at regularly scheduled intervals.
Plans dealership operations for the coming year and submits to the area and corporate management for approval.
Meets with the comptroller/office manager weekly to review departmental forecasts for consistency with the annual forecast.
Meets with managers individually to develop weekly, monthly and annual goals and objectives, and to review actual performance.
Monitors the daily operating control (DOC), recommending improved courses of action where necessary.
Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed.
Provides the Corporation with reports on the financial condition of the dealership.
Ensures that the monthly financial statement is complete, accurate, and submitted on time to the factory.
Coordinates with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
Develops and maintains a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel.
Holds regularly scheduled managers meetings to ensure that every department is operating efficiently and profitably.
Hires, trains, and motivates all dealership department managers.
Provides enthusiastic leadership to help shape employees' attitudes and build morale.
Reviews and approves compensation plans for all employees.
Develops merchandising strategies and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
Investigates and resolves complaints from outside agencies.
Reviews all requests for training, approves those which are appropriate and consistent with the dealership's goals for professional/technical ability and advancement, and monitors their effectiveness.
Works with the Dealer Principal to makes proposals and or changes to the operating plan and associated budgets.
Makes sure that departments hold to budgeted revenue and expense objectives.
Authorizes all major departmental expenditures.
Maintain records, controls and requests reports from others within dealership to assess dealership performance.
Creates and facilitates the operating procedures and policies for dealership.
Balances the expectations of customers, employees, suppliers, and owners
Offers coordination and focus for all areas of dealership operation.
Handles customer complaints sensibly, showing empathy and a constructive attitude.
Addresses customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
Follows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards including recording time of arrival, departure and all breaks for self and subordinates
Follows lawful directions from supervisors
Upholds the company’s non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
Attends company meetings as required
Works evenings, weekends and holidays as required
Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area for self and subordinates in accordance with company policy
Leads and manages other in an exemplary and professional manner.
Branch Manager Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.S or B.A) or equivalent; and two to four years related experience and/or training in dealership environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years in a supervisory role in prior employment.
Ability to hire personnel required to meet departmental and organizational goals
Ability to manage, including discipline and terminate personnel as required to meet departmental and organizational goals
Ability to effectively lead a team to achieve departmental and organizational goals
Ability to demonstrate proper sales techniques to employee in accordance with generally accepted standards and company policy

Ability to budget and understand financial requirements.
Ability to read and comprehend financial statements.
Ability to understands, keeps abreast of, and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that impact retail automotive sales
Computer proficiency
Good communication skills both oral and written with the ability to effectively communicate via face-to-face, phone, or by other means of communication.

Ability to process data and organize it for management analysis.
