Citi Commercial Bank UK (CCB UK) offers its clients the convenience, a global banking network, thought leadership and global financial capabilities of Citi. We deliver extensive industry knowledge, local expertise and dedicated service support to UK headquartered Mid-Corporates with an international footprint and annual revenues of upto $3bn.
CCB UK Healthcare banking team provide coverage to companies operating within wide range of sub-segments including next generation “Disruptors”. Our business partners include product specialists from Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), Corporate Finance, Markets, DCM, ECM, M&A, and Private Banking.
This is a new and exciting banker role that has come on back of strong growth. The role will report to the CCB UK Head of Healthcare, will be based in London (Canary Wharf) and focused on corporates that are publicly listed, privately owned and also sponsor owned.
This position requires an experienced banker capable of driving business independently, as it will have a heavy emphasis on new business development and market leadership. Primary responsibilities will be to build a client portfolio by acquiring new relationships, representing CCB in the external market and manage some existing client relationships.
Successful candidate should have proven solid track record in acquiring new business and strong client relationship skills interacting at the CEO/CFO level as well as with PE professionals. Strong corporate finance, credit, and transaction execution skills are required. Corporate / Commercial Banking experience with a good knowledge of investment banking products. Prior banking experience in the UK and leverage finance market is preferred, with strong knowledge and connections in the UK.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
Self-originate new, multi-product and multi-country clients and manage those relationship on an ongoing basis.
Experience within a Corporate/Commercial banking team involved in Leveraged Finance transactions or prior experience in M&A transaction environments or Leveraged Finance Origination preferred.
Strategically engage with client’s C-suite and maximise ‘One Citi’ client experience, by proactively leveraging and sharing Citi’s market leading insights, global network and solutions.
“Be the Best” for our clients’ by understanding and delivering on clients’ holistic treasury and strategic agenda. Be responsible for Client-level planning, budget and revenue responsibilities. Identify cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of business.
Demonstrates expert level credit skills; capable of structuring all credit deals, coordinate and supervise the entire approval process ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes. Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding the bank.
Strong legal documentation and transaction experience.
Collaborate and work closely with various product teams (cash sales, trade finance, markets, corporate finance), Underwriting and Risk teams on a daily basis, other CCB groups and business units outside of the Commercial Bank to develop opportunities.
Develop and build strong relationships & engagement with an external network of advisors, corporate finance, legal, audit, industry associations and others in the industry ecosystem. Build advocacy and gain market insight. Visible advocate of the UK franchise in the external market.
Monitor and support products’ implementation processes, clients on-boarding process and manage sales CRM platform to document meetings and track pipeline.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time. Verify adherence to global KYC (Know Your Customer) standards during the onboarding process and, on an ongoing basis, ensuring the appropriate compliance deliverables are met.
Team player who demonstrates strong and visible leadership skills, fosters a collaborative culture and promotes the coaching & development of other colleagues across the Commercial Bank.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership).
Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience.
Education Level
Bachelor’s/University degree, Masters degree preferred.
