Join our dedicated team at Micron, where your hard-working nature will drive the revolution of information into intelligence. As a Data Scientist - SMAI, you will play an integral part in our mission to inspire the world to learn, communicate, and advance faster than ever.

Apply mathematical, statistical, and IT knowledge to analyze data, work with diverse teams, and improve existing tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop software programs, algorithms, and automated processes to cleanse, integrate, and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
  • Perform exploratory and new solution development activities to drive innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data analysis needs and successfully implement solutions.
  • Extract data from diverse databases using SQL and other query languages, applying data cleansing, outlier identification, and missing data techniques.
  • Communicate findings and insights to collaborators, customers, partners, and team members in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with various SMAI and cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in statistical modeling, feature extraction, and analysis.
  • Strong software development skills, with fluency in Python and/or R.
  • Experience with machine learning and other advanced analytical methods.
  • Familiarity with tools such as pySpark, Hadoop, Teradata, Tensorflow, and other statistical software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. or equivalent experience in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Physics.
  • Demonstrated experience in data science and machine learning.
  • Proven ability to develop and program methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources.
