Department Overview

The North America Solutions Deployment and Integration (SDI) Operations team partners with Motorola Solutions’ field organizations to drive best practices in project management and project accounting. This team strives to optimize portfolio
performance by providing key metrics and analysis to the regional leaders and project managers they support. Administration and implementation of business processes and tools to maximize business effectiveness is our core responsibility.


Job Description

This position is remote and candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

Overview:

  • Provide proactive operational guidance, analysis and support to the regional SDI director.  

  • Analyze all operational aspects of a complex customer portfolio, including planning, scheduling, forecasting, risk management, project execution, tracking and reporting progress. 

  • Support a team of dedicated project managers, engineers and technicians

  • Work within a matrixed organization to maximize customer satisfaction and business performance.  

  • Partner with the SWE field team, finance, technical staff and third-party contributors to exceed customer expectations from kick-off through design, build and transition to maintenance.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of best practices and processes supporting PMs (schedule, critical path analysis, budget, change order, risk assessment, action item log, etc).  

  • Analyze complex issues and develop solutions to meet the business needs of the territory.  

  • Monitors project portfolio statistics and contributes new ideas to improve the operational efficiency and performance of the assigned region.

  • May assist in the development of business plans, strategies, and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.  

  • Participates in project review and status meetings, and communicates project status. 

  • Prepares reports for upper management regarding the status of the portfolio.

  • Contributes to the fulfillment of projects and organizational objectives

  • Acts as a liaison to the NA SWE Solutions Deployment and Integration Operations team

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Experience with at least one of the following is preferred: public safety communications systems, cellular infrastructure, military communications, civil construction or IT networks

  • Proficiency with Google Apps (Docs, Sheets, Drive,& Slides)

  • Planview experience is a plus

  • PM Masters Certificate a plus. PMP and/or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) are highly desired.

  • Must be a self motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives.

  • Must have excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.

This position is remote and candidates can reside anywhere in the US.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of project/program management, finance or similar business experience

  • OR 5+ years of project/program management, finance or similar business experience

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
