Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating architectural plans and designs for software systems or foundational services or frameworks

  • Serves as a liaison between the business or functional community and the Technology organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.

  • Assist in the process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology solutions

  • Work with Enterprise Architects to ensure that a solution architecture aligns and is consistent with both enterprise design guidelines and enterprise architecture standards.

  • Work with the other Architects to define interactions that cross business and technical area boundaries.

  • Author and participate in solution architecture review board (ARB)

  • Understand and augments the conceptual architecture and design to address integrations being applied across businesses, applications, technologies and services

  • Facilitate solution design discussions

  • Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks.

  • Communicate tradeoffs to business partners and work with them to shape requirements accordingly

  • Recommend changes to existing processes to reduce overhead and eliminate waste while still controlling risk

  • Synthesize data from various sources to uncover insights about operations, helping to drive important strategic decisions

  • Design solutions that meet the business and technology objectives of the business area following the agreed upon policies, standards, and patterns supplied by the centers of enablement

  • Engages in complex initiatives, guiding teams on effectively identifying and resolving cross-dependencies

  • Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations

  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with other architects, technical leads, software engineers and Product Owner partners

  • Declare key technology platforms, surfaces potential universal capabilities, and identifies opportunities for consolidation / simplification of systems

  • Have a deep knowledge of software architecture patterns and when to use them.

  • Experience architecting the integration of Software as a Service (SaaS) applications with other applications.

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Experience with modern web application, microservice, and API design.

  • Programming experience in a modern language like Java, Python and object-oriented design

  • Understand DevOps and the deployment process.

  • Experience with agile development environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants must possess a solid background in the financial services industry, with demonstrated expertise with Application, Data and Integration design and architecture.

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field of study is required

  • Ten or more years of experience with designing and architecting financial or insurance technology solutions.

  • Knowledge of modern technology ecosystems, SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), service-oriented architecture (SOA), APIs, open data, microservices, mobile app development, content management system, SSO, cyber security and application scan tools.

  • Knowledge of information management practices, system development life cycle, IT services, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks

  • Broad understanding of multiple technologies, reference architectures and design patterns in the areas of application, integration, information, security, operations and infrastructure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to tailor communication and present at senior levels, while also being able to dive into the details and the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple large, complex projects with minimal supervision.

  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills.

  • Proven success in influencing and working effectively across a broad and complex organization to influence process adoption and continuous improvement.

  • Proven experience in talent development, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and feedback.

  • Quick learner who goes the extra mile to meet or exceed internal professional development requirements

  • Able to resolve issues independently, analyzing solutions using judgment, knowledge and prior experience; develops a new perspective using existing solutions.

  • Ability to lean into the culture and foster team collaboration, decision-making, and execution

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Strong consulting skills such as targeted communications, engagement management, stakeholder management, and business development

Location: West Chester, PA is preferred, open to Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC or NYC. Regardless of location travel is upto 25%.

These estimates consider a wide range of factors in making base salary decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The range for the role may differ based on the location.

Base Salary Ranges:

  • West Chester, PA: $167,500 - $205,000

  • Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC: $164,000 - $200,500

  • NYC: $170,00 - $208,000
