The Compliance Investigations team at SWIVEL conducts persistent monitoring for potential money laundering, fraud, and other suspicious activity across our ACH and card processing platform.  As Supervisor, Risk and Compliance you will oversee a team of specialists responsible for investigating financial crimes risk across the platform.  In your role, you will manage the case work of a team of 4-6 investigators, collaborate with the SWIVEL quality control team to provide proactive feedback on case reviews, track trends and risks, and manage overall team performance.  You will work with other team members in the Risk & Compliance organization to manage risk, develop standard operating procedures, and improve workflow design to support the team’s overall effectiveness. You will help manage a program that demonstrates compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in a dynamic financial services space.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Oversees a team of Compliance Investigators with varying levels of experience, who conduct reviews stemming from transaction and sub-merchant monitoring alerts and other sources involving a range of risk scenarios and financial crime risk types.  
  • Conducts frequent performance assessments as they relate to program goals.
  • Provides guidance, training and act as an escalation point for your team as they perform reviews and make decisions on the disposition of cases.
  • Supports Senior Compliance Investigators in the development of policies & procedures applicable to the team, including iterating on existing workflows to improve efficiencies. 
  • Works with other Compliance Team members to develop technical specifications for tool enhancements or to build new tools/platforms. 
  • Manages Service level agreements and deadlines, as well as team member performance 
  • Creates, builds, and manages portfolio level dashboards and reporting.
  • Conducts ongoing evaluations of transaction monitoring rules and alerts, adjusting as necessary to ensure peak performance.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in BSA/AML/Compliance or Fraud/Risk related work.
  • Experience in payment processing and/or financial services industry preferred. 
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior leadership experience supporting an organization responsible for conducting financial crime investigations is preferred. 
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge in AML transaction monitoring and financial crime typologies and risks in the payments industry.
  • Familiarity with relevant AML laws and regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent written communication skills that demonstrate attention to detail 
  • Experience handling sensitive directives and work with team members and all partners 
  • Familiarity with relevant AML laws and regulations, and industry best practices  
  • Certification in Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), APRP, or CFE preferred.
