As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I, you will be trusted to work with 3rd party vendors to design manufacturing systems to support current and new product lines at Houston, TX US.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Provide support during process/quality investigations.
  • Coordinate technical Research & Development (R&D), Manufacturing (Mfg.) and Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) technical engineering teams to meet new product lifecycle results.
  • Apply project management tools to ensure all the equipment lifecycle work you're doing (design, development, validation, and implementation) is completed in a timely manner.
  • Validate (Installation Qualification (IQ)/Operational Qualification (OQ)/Process or Product Qualification (PQ)) manual processes and semi and fully automated pieces of assembly equipment.
  • Develop and implement technical pre-validation studies to characterize and identify operating ranges for new manufacturing processes.
  • Design arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout following Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc.+16yrs; M.S.+0 yrs.).
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 1 Year of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Work hours: Exempt
  • Travel Requirements: 0-10%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Manufacturing automation experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Certifications
  • Proficiency in Minitab
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
