Position Summary

This role is positioned on the CVS Health Enterprise Identity Services team.  The team owns and manages a big data data platform which serves to identify our customers regardless of which channel they engage.  The identity demographic information is used to power programs and services that help drive customer safety and access to services.  The goal is to provide a trusted and definitive identity data asset that can be consumed across all lines of business.  Our customers are our most important asset and identity information is a strategic enabler for CVS Health.

We’re looking for an engineer to help us provide the highest level of observability and resiliency for this complex platform.  The role includes:

  • Monitoring and Managing the performance and availability of a multi-layer application stack.

  • Proactively intervene to avoid performance interruptions

  • Recommend and help drive engineering efforts to improve resiliency and stability of the platform.

  • Lead performance testing efforts for new development

The successful candidate will be able to operate with our existing on-premise platform and will shift their focus to observability in a Google Cloud environment.  Professional training is available for this role to help make that transition seamless.  Preference is given to somebody who has experience in using GCP and cloud-native tools for building products in the cloud.


Required Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience in application performance monitoring using a tool like AppDyamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with scripting/programming languages like: C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, PowerShell, and R, staying current with emerging trends

  • Minimum 3 years of experience of Load and Performance testing experience using industry-leading tools such as Performance Center / LoadRunner.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with Experience with Jira or Rally for defect management

  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment and using DevOps practices such as Continuous Integration (CI/CD)


Preferred Qualifications

  • AppDyamics Certification.

  • Experience & certification on GCP.

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors

  • Experience working with MDM technology and concepts.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information systems or similar

  • 1 year of experience required for every year of college degree not obtained in addition to required years of experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$101,970.00 - $203,940.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
